Inshitsu walked along the beach that Grave had docked the boat that they had used to sail to the island. Inshitsu had come back since he remembered a set of foot prints that did not belong to any version of Grave that he could tell. He walked to the spot that he assumed they had landed. There was no evidence of their arrival, and it would have been impossible to tell that this was the spot that they arrived if not for the single clue left behind. The foot prints never vanished even though it had literally been days since their arrival. ‘What was here,’ Inshitsu turned his head around to look behind him, ‘or is it still here?’ Inshitsu’s breath hastened as he spun his head around him to be sure that the mysterious being was not waiting for a vulnerable meal. Inshitsu started to relax after a few minutes, calmed by the night’s soothing breeze. Inshitsu returned his focus to the tracks that were lingering in the sand. He followed the tracks along until he came upon a large cave.
Unsuspecting of any danger, Inshitsu started to enter the cave, only to be blinded by a bright light that erupted from the entrance of the cave. He felt his arms be taken behind his body pinned up against a body of some sort with his eyes shut to protect them from the blinding light. Before he could attempt to struggle, he felt a thin, yet cool object be pressed against his throat. “I guess you thought a casual stroll couldn’t hurt, to walk blindly into this trap,” the voice sounded feminine, but the force behind his arms being wrenched from their socket suggested otherwise to Inshitsu. “Who are you?” Inshitsu had to be careful not to be too loud so that he wouldn’t silt his own throat on the blade pressed on his throat. “Wait a minute,” the voice sounded uncertain, “Are you trying to attack someone?” Inshitsu had to whisper his answer as his assailant pushed the blade closer to his throat. “No,” Inshitsu’s gut instinct started to affect his words, “I’m just a Yomi Kakedashi.” The force pulling on his arms vanished as he was shoved forward with the lights blinking out. “A Kakedashi…?” His eyes shut open to adjust to the dim light of the cave. He turned to the person behind him that released him so suddenly. He was wrong about the person in general; it was a skinny seemingly frail individual. His eyes started to focus on the assassin in front of him as they pulled down their hood that block their face from Inshitsu’s view. Inshitsu’s breath sucked in as he saw the hair of the assassin flow down from the hood, allowing their face to be seen.
“Remember me?” The face of the person was unmistakable. “You’re kidding me right?” Inshitsu’s face started to turn into a slight frown. “I thought assassins hide their identities, even from each other.” Inshitsu’s eyes narrowed to look at the nurse standing in front of him. “Sure, if they are against each other, we aren’t against each other,” She strolled in front of Inshitsu stopping a step’s distance from him. “We are master and student.” Inshitsu took a step back from the smiling woman, “Student?! Wait…Master!?!” The woman’s smile expanded as she regained the ground that she lost from Inshitsu’s step. “You’re a Kakedashi and I’m a Hebi. I know of you, Sokoi Houbou, and you want to join us since you carried out a contract. ” Inshitsu stared into the eyes of the nurse, “Well thank you for the opportunity to join.” The nurse walked behind Inshitsu with her footsteps suppressed as she eased her step. “Tell anyone though, then that’s when problems may start to settle in.” Inshitsu’s throat throbbed at the spot where her knife was held to his throat, “Understood…?” Inshitsu realized that he lacked a name to call the woman as she came from his right side looking at him with slanted eyes.
“Did you expect to learn my name that easily?” The woman tilted her head with a grin. Inshitsu sighed, ‘So this woman is going to be my mentor, this is going to be painful.’ “I was hoping that maybe you would try guessing,” Her mouth puffed up,” The name’s Kin Shidousha.” Kin turned and started to walk towards the mouth of the cave on to the moonlit beach. Inshitsu started to follow, but stopped as something caught his attention. The cave’s interior was marked with a symbol that Inshitsu had not been able to recognize. ‘So she is a shinobi, is she a known shinobi?’, Inshitsu’s lip scrunched up as he turned towards the opening realizing that Kin had wasted no time in leaving. Inshitsu left the cave, looking at the tracks that he left and started to follow them in order to get back to the house that he was residing in.
