Inshitsu watched as Kin swung at the air in front of her. He sighed; she had invited him over to do some training, but clearly, she intended to only have solo sessions. She seemed to be swinging harder than necessary; it seemed to be a thing with her. Inshitsu couldn’t help it, yet he still ended up sighing at her individualism. Giving up on any last chance of a team training session, he started to clear up a spot to train. The clutter around her house was mostly scrolls and film, but from what, she wouldn’t tell. He saw a few unmarked scrolls within the clutter near him. Inshitsu picked out the scrolls and examined them closely. They were indeed unmarked, contained nothing in them, and weighed about the same. I got nothing else to mess with. He stood and placed his feet shoulder distance from each other. He evened the number of scrolls in his hands and placed three in his ground. Bracing himself, he took in a deep breath and tossed a scroll into the air. Inshitsu pushed the other scroll he was holding into his hand and caught the scroll that was falling with the other one. He continued this cycle for several more times, becoming oblivious to anything that may be happening around him. Once he was able to nail the cycle without messing up, he decided to ramp up his “training”. He threw the scroll slightly higher to bend over to add another scroll. He threw up the extra scroll. He had to readjust the cycle to allow the extra scroll to be added in. The cycle became slightly faster to compromise for the added object. The cycle was easier for him due to the added practice of the other one, but the stress started to build up on his arms. Inshitsu felt a little bit cocky and decided to see what another scroll could do. He bent over to pick the last scroll off the ground. However, he forgot to add the extra boost to the cycle to open up a gap. He felt a scroll bounce off his head as he watched the other two land and bounce off the ground. He rubbed the spot where the scroll had hit him and rose back to full height. “Smooth.” Inshitsu flinched as he remembered Kin’s existence. Sneaking a glance at her, he saw her standing with the blade on her waist and her hands on her hip. She had an innocent looking smile on her face.”It was actually pretty cool, just next time, keep track of it.” Inshitsu couldn’t help but cringe at the thought of her seeing him mess up. The silence grew awkward as both people were embarrassed about the other one. Inshitsu broke the silence, “Sorry, but I gotta head out. I got some stuff to do today.” Kin nodded at Inshitsu’s departure. “Got it. Next time, I’ll try something new.” Inshitsu smiled at her in reality, but grimaced to himself. He walked to the front door. “Cya.” Inshitsu waved at Kin before shutting the door. His last view of Kin was of her picking up the scrolls that he had scattered across her floor.
