Long Overdue Training ... NO KIDDING! (Solo-- Chakra Control X2 TP 8)

It was a pleasant warm spring day, and Enja decided to take this time to train in his own method. After learning his affiliation to fire, he wanted to improve it furthering his chakra control. He was now meditating in the training area, working to build up and manipulate his chakra better. Sitting crosslegged, he tried to focus and manipulated his chakra from the inside.

It was a method done by the Asakura Clan to manipulate chakra better, first using the mind to control it. Still, in the end he would have to use piratical applications in order to really exercise his control of CHakra. Sitting there, he sat in his baggy red hakama and sandals. He had discarded his red vest to allow him more flexibility and it was quite warm out. Unfortunately he was near no water for him to practice walking on water. So he had to do the next best thing.

The tree climbing exercise. The goal was for him to climb up the tree with only his feet-- walking up it as if he was to do the same on solid ground. Gravity was the constant here, but with his chakra, he could very well defy it and walk horizontal to the ground.

Finishing his preparation. He slowly opened his eyes and then stood up. The chirp of the birds and sound of the rushing wind sounded off the cliff side on the small mountain area where the Asakura estate was. He turned to the large oak tree placed firmly at the end of the clearing. He glared at it, as if in challenge.

I'm going to climb that tree! he said with determination.

First, he started with a plain run, and ran for the tree. He reached a foot for it, and attempted to land on the tree. He suddenly turned 90 degrees-- then ascended about two meters...

before gravity tugged his chakra away from his feet and he came tumbling back down.

THUD! He landed flat on his back with a grunt. "Damnit..." he groaned as he lied there a moment. He didn't build up enough chakra yet to ascend further. Rolling onto his side, he slowly got back up and looked up the tree.

Part of him felt the shifting leaves of the wind were mocking him. WIth a grunt, he walked back a few paces and prepared to try again.

After a good running start, he focused this time-- applying his chakra to the soles of his feet and ran again. Once he made contact with the tree, he ran up this time. As he did, he got higher than before. His goal was to make it to the very top of the tree! He got about 6 feet... about to reach 10 till...

"Waaaaaaah!!!" THUD! Once again he fell flat on his back, this time the height actually bruising his back and aching his bones a bit. He swore creatively as he pushed himself up and brushed off the dust from his back. This was not as easy as other ninja in the Hidden Cloud made it look.

He would see them easily scale the mountains with ease. It made him envious to see them do some of the things liek walking on water. But he was determined to fix that. He was going to get better, despite not having a teacher to train him or anything. If he was forced to learn on his own, then so be it.

Several hours later...

Sunset dyed the sky in a shade of orange as he had now been training four hours straight. He now stood there, a hand sign before him as he focused his chakra stronger than before. Despite the small scrapes and cuts along his body, and a bruised pride, he had learned his lesson. He knew what he had to do!

Once again, he made his way for the tree. With a jump up, he landed both feet to the trunk of it and promptly began running up. This time, he didn't lose his balance or feel gravity pull him away. It felt like the chakra in his feet were magnets against the tree now. He ran up , moving past the several marks he had left with a spare kunai he 'borrowed' from his clan. He was now rushing up the tree and made it past the half way mark he made.

Ideally, a full control of one's chakra would allow a person to just walk up it at a normal pace. An advance form would allow someone to carry something heavy. Point was, what Enja was doing was rather simple and that of a rookie ninja could do. Still, it was progress for him.

He didn't bother to stop just yet as he got past his latest mark and moved further-- going past the final bits of branches in his way and out towards the top!

He emerged from the branches and leaves and soon found himself at the very top. His feet now stood upon the very tip of the tree's branch-- and to his own surprise, his weight did not even bend the tree. He stood poised right at the tip, his feet balanced on it as if it was a solid pole. From where he was, he got a great view of the entire mountain side, the other mountains around, and the sunset. A gorgeous view as he gazed upon the sky as if it was on fire.

There he stood, admiring the sight before him, and satisfied he got so far.

Next time, he would climb up with weights.
