Of course it was strange question to ask about how to battle. If the genin did not know how to battle it would seem to be stupid to have passed the academy at all without knowing this. The genin would close his eyes crossing his arms saying softly,

"Well, yeah i know how to battle if I was attacked, I would perform a technique and now just any technique to start off but using my powerful technique."

Hearing the voice from the jounin sensei the young genin was confused for a moment as the jounin would suddenly start walking softly before vanishing leaving no trace of his presence before feeling the body heat of his sensei standing behind him. Taking a step forward, spinning around quickly confused for that moment.

But now you understand a little bit that you cannot just use a powerful technique right off the bat if you do not have the speed to overpower your target. But there is more I shall teach you later on. Just come back tomorrow and I will show you how to survive."
