The Rakshasa Demon-Beast -- Akuma Tiger (Rank A Mission) (Treasure Dice= Jounin lvl beast)

The call was urgent that Asura was forced to end his training with Ravana and Vidav early as one of the loyal tigers to Boss Byakko called for him. Asura was both relieved and frustriated to be called out of Ravana's vigorous training and right into a mission, but it couldn't be helped.

So far, Asura's missions for Boss Byakko had been simple ones-- drive away pouchers and loggers near the jungle and all been within the jungle country. This one, however, was much more complicated.

As they all assembled before Boss Byakko, the large masked white tiger flicked his tail in aggravation. "That reckless, brainless, uncontrollable idiot... He will be the death of my nerves one day..." Byakko growled.

Asura smirked at the tiger's attitude. "You talking about Ravana, right?" he said.

Ravana who stood right next to him, looked in Asura's direction and immediately gave him a not-so-gentle slap upside his head. It was so strong Asura's head snapped forward from the impact.

"Ha... I wish," Boss Byakko growled and shook his head. "I'd consider sending Ravana on this mission, but I need someone a bit more ... reliable."

"Oh, don't sugar-coat shit for my benefit, whiskers," Ravana replied with a turn of his head.

Boss Byakko gave a growl at him, but returned promptly to the issue at hand. "In the north-west corner of the jungle, one of our tribe-- a tiger we call Akuma Tiger, lives there. He is one of our Rakshasa who guards the boarder," the white tiger leader explained. "However, unlike many of our tribe, he remains still a pure-blooded animal. He has no sentient mind to communicate and is little more than a wild animal with no sense of reason. He has wandered away from his designated territory and is causing havoc among the jungle. Eating unnecessary amounts of our wildlife and even damaging the jungle in his wake."

Asura tilted his head. "Um... I don't understand. You're asking me to track down one of your own?" Asura asked.

A grumble came from Byakko. "While he is truly wild and violent-- he is still one of our own and when our boarder is in danger, he is depended on as a ferocious warrior. Though unpredictable, he is one of us. " the tiger explained. "That said, your mission is to locate him and subdue him. You are not to kill him-- which I think we can both agree on. But you must weaken him and drive him back into his part of the jungle. "

"Oh, i see..."Asura said with a moment to think. "That I can do. It shouldn't be a problem."

"Don't think lightly of this, Asura," Byakko warned with a growl. "Akuma Tiger is what you humans would call a monster. That said, you must subdue him and not use any kind of extensive damage."

"I can control my power, you know," Asura rebuttled.

"Still, your mission will be to drive him back. However, I forbid you to use any kind of S class or Forbidden offensive jutsu. You may use any other form of technique you need, but you must not injure him beyond healing. Understood?" Byakko explained firmly.

Asura knelt to the ground and bowed his head before the giant tiger. "Yes, Boss. I promise I will complete the task without issue." he replied.

As he got up-- the two arms of both Chigatsumi and Bloody Mist wrapped around his neck as they both got close. "Hehe... good luck, Asura. I sure wouldn't want to be in your shoes right now," Chigatsumi commented.

"Yeah," Blood Mist added in turn, "You might end up being AKuma Tiger's next guest for lunch. He even is known to eat friend or foe on his mood. Oh well. Nice knowing you," he purred.

"You, two..." Boss Byakko interrupted, "... Will be joining him on this mission."

".... WHAT?!" Both tigers shouted in unison. Asura's annoyed expression soon turned into an amused one as he looked to the two tigers and their obvious fear.

"Since you two are so concerned for his safety," Boss Byakko spoke up and leaned forward to cast both of them in his fierce gaze behind his mask, "You two should accompany him and aid in Akuma's capture. "

The two tiger's faces showed clear rejection to the idea of fighting the tiger. "Um... Boss, we would love to help Asura out..." Chigatsumi said.

"... But we got an appointment to get our fur cleaned." Bloody Mist said as he licked the back of his paw and tried to clean up his head. "Not to mention I am feeling under the weather and..."

"YOU TWO MORONS! You will obey this order or I will deal out a punishment that makes anything Akuma would do look like a day at the hotsprings. UNDERSTOOD!?" Byakko roared, his voice echoing through the field.

As both tigers froze in fear, another person spoke up. "Lord Byakko, if I may?"

Stepping out from his place among the tall grass near Boss Byakko, Taiyoumaru-- an orange tiger dawned in thick red samurai-like armor-- came out before him. "Considering you desire reliable hands for this mission, perhaps those two are not the best choice. " the tiger explained as he bowed his head. "I am more than willing to volunteer and aid Asura in this mission, if you will allow me."

The polite and honorable demeanor of the armored Tiger caused Byakko to purr in appreciation. "Hmm, you make a valid point, Taiyoumaru. Very well," Boss Byakko answered and turned back to Asura. "Taiyoumaru will escort you to where Akuma was last seen and aid you in your mission."

Asura bowed his head, despite the terrible tiger twins around him . "I understand, Boss Byakko." he said. "We won't be long."

"Whew..." Bloody Mist sighed.

"Yeah, we dodged a bullet there..." Chigatsumi replied to his brother.

"Don't you two dare think your off the hook!" Byakko boomed aloud, causing their fur and whiskers to stand on end. "I have a different mission for you two slackers! If you think you would get off mouthing off so easy, you're insane!"

This time, it was Asura who snickered at the two tigers as he slipped out of their head lock around him. "Good luck you two. Have fun," Asura chirped and moved to join Taiyoumaru.

The moment Asura left the gathering where the tigers met, Taiyoumaru walked beside him. It was still a distance before they would reach the jungle and would high tail it to where the mission was. Still, Asura had only really interacted with Taiyoumaru once-- when he first arrived in the jungle and he showed him to the palace ruins where he was now living at. Though a pleasant tiger, Taiyoumaru was not an easy person to talk to. He was a dutiful, proud feline, and not one to easily socialize with.

"So... " Asura dared to break the ice between him and the orange tiger. "What made you decide to join me on this. You didn't have to, you know?"

"Yeah, well I wanted to do it. I certainly wouldn't handle this to the paws of those two hairballs," the tiger commented towards the Rakshasa Twins. " How those two became Rakshasa warriors is beyond me."

Asura chuckled as the tiger grumbled about them too. "Well, despite their quirks, they can surprise you when push comes to shove. I guess they do that for their psychological warfare or something," Asura replied. He resisted the urge to pet Taiyoumaru on the head, as the tiger and him were not super close just yet. "Still, why did you want to come along?"

The tiger kept quiet for a moment and then let out a soft growl. "Truthfully, I wanted to see what you will do. You have me curious. No offense to you personally, but I don't see much value in humans. Yet, Lord Byakko and even Lord Vidav had shown great favor to you. I want to see if you are worth my trust as well."

Asura frowned a bit at Taiyoumaru's choice of words. It was curt, but honest. He turned away, unsure what to say in response. "Well, your honesty is refreshing, at least. I'm sorry I am not trust worthy to you yet." he said softly.

The tiger gave a puzzled look to Asura as they walked. "I never said you weren't trust worthy," the tiger corrected. "I am just saying I will save my opinions on whether or not you truly are as big a deal as they say till I see what you can do personally."

They soon reached the edge of the jungle and ready to proceed. "Can I still count on you to back me up on this mission though?" Asura asked.

"Of course. You have my support in this matter. That is my mission," The tiger said.

Satisfied with the answer, Asura nodded. "Okay, let's go then." With that, both he and Taiyoumaru hopped up into the canopy of the tree and lept through the depths of the jungle.

The thick jungle was oddly quiet after they dashed through the canopy for about an hour. The two had become focused as they searched for their target. The tiger looked funny as he pounced from branch to branch-- but kept up with Asura's swift movement. Even weighed down by his armor and large sword attached to his side.

"We are approaching the last place he was seen," Taiyoumaru said as they drew closer. "Luckily, he has not gone far."

"Is he really as bad as everyone has been saying?" Asura asked, unable to imagine why this tiger was such a menace.

"Depends on his mood... and appetite," Taiyoumaru commented as they jumped past a few canopies. "Normally he is satisfied with the game in his own territory, but sometimes he gets oddly peckish to the point he wanders out seeking a bigger kill."

"Lovely," Asura said. "We just better be sure we are not next on his list."

"He may attack me, but not eat me," Taiyoumaru commented with a growl. "That's all you. I heard he gets unusually excited when he gets the chance to eat humans."

Asura glared at Taiyoumaru. "Thanks for that visual. No pressure..."

It was then that Asura took notice to something below them. "Down there, take a look!" he pointed. Hearing him, the tiger glanced down and stopped at the next branch.

The two soon hopped down to the jungle floor-- and soon saw it.

A large section of the jungle was trampled and bored out. Trees were knocked down and parts of bark where torn apart as if ran by a drill. The section was quiet without any sound of birds or animals. A few animal corpses were in the path, blood painted over the bits of wood around it.

"Eeeh..." Asura grimaced as he saw the disaster zone. "It's like a tornado ran through here," he commented. The once dark jungle was lit by the clear gap of sunlight that poured into the space.

"That's him alright..." Taiyoumaru added as he sniffed around. "The beast is always like that when in a frenzy."

Asura looked for signs of tracks, but couldn't find any in the mess of rubble. Claw marks could also be found along the edge of the devastated path. "Should we just follow the trail of destruction or do you think he is somewhere close in the jungle?"

"Most likely he is in the jungle. We tigers know when to keep out of sight so..." Taiyoumaru stopped as he sniffed the air. His ears twitched and a growl escaped the orange tiger.

"Taiyoumaru...?" Asura asked.

"Quiet... he is very near. "

Asura froze in place and his muscles went rigid. Despite his training to be more relaxed, he knew his body acted almost on instinct.

Deep in the shadow of the trees, the vicious tiger began to stalk closer and closer to its prey. Its field of vision was red as the blood that clung to his fur. The soft growl was like a rumble of thunder form the distance.

It was enough to give Asura a chill up his neck as he could soon sense the presence of the beast as well.

Sharp teeth smacked as it drew closer and closer till...

"GJRRRAAAH!!"

The vicious beast erupted from the trees out into the torn through clearing and towards Asura where his back was turned.

Taiyoumaru's eyes went wide as Akuma Tiger attempted to strike. "Asura-- move!" But the tiger was close upon him. The shinobi barely turned around till he saw the pouncing tiger-- the size of a freaking house!

Asura jumped out of the way-- but not before the sharp claw of the tiger grazed his right shoulder, drawing a cut across his flesh and just nicked him! "WHOH! OUCH!" Asura grunted as he moved away- both he and the tiger's momentum giving them space. Had the claw been any closer, it would of slashed Asura's arm off.

Both Taiyoumaru and Asura got away and saw as the tiger slowed down into a stalking pace. Asura's eyes widened as he saw the size of the tiger, nearly half as tall as the trees around him. THe tiger growled as it slowly leered its head in their direction, its maw wide open to reveal its sharp teeth, like an angry, hungry dog.

"Whoh... now that is a face only a mother can love," Asura commented and gulped. He reached for his chakra blade.

"Careful," Taityoumaru warned. "He is more than meets the eye. If you allow a solid hit, your as good as dead."

"How bad can it be?" Asura asked.

However, the growl of the giant tiger drew their attention. Asura looked towards it-- and his eyes widened.

The tiger's head hanged low for a moment and a growl escaped, as if it was in pain-- but soon his muscles began to change. From the base of the tiger's neck-- the skin and fur of its body began to shift, as if it was mutating. It was then that Asura saw it. Its face seemed to almost split-- as a half of the tiger's face grew out of his side-- till the tiger turned and saw that his face has two-half faces growing out of the side-- to reveal a total of 4 sets of eyes, and half mouths on both sides that looks hideous.

"Um... okay..." Asura groaned and took a step back. "Now I see why Boss Byakko called it a monster..."

"Stay on guard, Asura!" the tiger samurai growled and stood ready. "IN this state its even deadlier!"

"But what the hell-- I mean what the hell?! Is it some sort of partial clone jutsu that does this to him?" Asura gasped.

The beast gave another vicious growl in their direction.

Asura felt hesitant, unsure how to take action against this beast. But it was a beast, and a beast alone could be outwitted.

Asura took a deep breath and closed his eyes-- just briefly-- and flicked them open to transform the pupils into the sun pattern of his Doujutsu. His sense of awareness became sharper now.

"Should I bother gathering nature energy-- no, to do that I need to be still and this guy I doubt will sit idly buy as I try to gather. I can't rely on Sage Mode right now," Asura then stood up tall and wove his hand signs together-- "I'll have to trip him up somehow. Best way to do it is using my Pyro Clone Jutsu. If I use my chakra right between them, I can distract him and do mild damage to him without seriously injuring him.. "

He channeled his chakra and soon made the final move. "Katon-- Pyro CLone Jutsu!"

Series of flames spread out from his limbs and soon became silhouette versions of himself.  After a moment, they took shape, till a total of 6 of them were out.

Taiyoumaru watched and let out a soft purr as he saw Asura conjure the Pyro Clones. ALl the while, Akuma Tiger leered at the series of enemies, both in aggravation but in hunger to eat them all.

AKuma Tiger, now transformed into a more intimidating state, let out a fierce growl and charged for the cluster of Asura. The enhanced state with its multiple-half faces, enhanced his senses, and went wild at the sensation of multiple targets with the clones.

Thirsty for blood and meat, the tiger charged into a wild state of anger. The three mouths of the mutated tiger roared and charged with all claws reaching forward. It was then in his mad dash-- the tiger entered a violent spin to drive through his enemies-- and consume them.

The tiger became a spinning storm of destruction aimed to strike and tear them apart.

"Asura no! Get away from him now!" Taiyoumaru roared.

All versions of Asura reacted and scattered as the giant tiger came charging after them-- but luckily the wild rush of the tiger passed right by them. THe violent gust of his spinning landed him right back into the jungle-- where he smashed and tore apart a path through the trees.

Asura looked back and so did Taiyoumaru. "For a fierce fighter, the cat is rather stupidly clumsy," he replied.

"Yes... " Tayoumaru answered back as they saw the vicious tiger no longer spinning and fumbled a bit in his balance. "Akuma is best known for his violent, formidable taijutsu. However, as you probably know it consumes a great deal of stamina. THat means..." The tiger pulled himself from the rubble and looked back to them. "His power is limited. He is a loose canon. While he is powerful, he can only go for so long before he tires and loses energy."

"So he is only good for quick attacks and to keep pressure on an enemy. If he keeps running low on energy..." Asura thought aloud, then smiled. "We can ware him out easier to drag him back to his home. "

"Taiyoumaru," Asura said," Get up above the trees. Do you got a Jutsu that can narrow his path?"

The armored tiger smirked . " I think I can do something about that," he said. With that, the tiger moved his head to his side and grasped the hilt of the sword strapped to his side, He bit down on the hilt and drew it out, to reveal the long Nodachi he wielded iwth his maw alone. "You better be ready. Get moving. " through his teeth.

As Asura and his clones jumped away, the sword-wielding tiger charged forward. With his charge, his sword's movement suddenly caused fire. With a mighty roar, the tiger slashed the sword across the ground-- and caused a wave of fire to cut through the ground. It drove through the kindling of the broken trees and soon circled into a full loop-- encompassing Akuma Tiger.

The vicious tiger's maws let out a fierce growl, but one of fright as the flames surrounded him. The ring of fire kept the tiger in place, and prevented it from running.

From above, Asura saw the ring of fire the tiger created and whistled in interest. "Wow... Didn't think the cat could do that," he commented and looked to the ground below where the cat was. Despite the flash of fire below him, Asura observed the scene with his Tengan-- and spotted Akuma Tiger's body heat with his eyes that stood out uniquely compared to the flames.

"My turn," Asura said as he focused his chakra to his fist. As he did, flames began to appear along his hand and arm. The heat built up with his chakra, free of any need of hand signs. Taiyoumaru set him up, so it was up for him to follow them.

As the clones kept close watch, Asura fell forward and moved into a free fall from the tree. With his arm thrown back he prepared to deliver a strong physical blow-- his fist consumed in flames.

"KATON! Bakuhatsu Ken!!" he roared and delivered a mighty punch towards AKuma Tiger.

The blow was powerful as it came towards the tiger. Hearing the human's roar, one of the 'heads' of Akuma Tiger looked up at him as the fist came incoming. The tiger then did something unexpected. With a roar, he entered a violent spin again-- this time aimed directly upward right for Asura.

"LOOK OUT!" Taiyoumaru shouted, as the tornado came roaring.

After which the tiger proceeded to slash upward with melee attacks-- Though the farther he climbed, the more the flames attempted to reach him. The tiger was trapped, but now so was Asura if he couldn't counter the beast's assault on him for a head-on assault.
