| Konoha... It was many days that many of the villagers of had seen pleasant days. The sun was bright and the sky was blue. The great hidden village was the gem to the land of fire. Many futures were born there, along with the shinobi who defended it.
This was the beginning for one such ninja. A young boy, destined to great power like his peers-- but an oddity who choose a path that made him different from his clan mates.
And so he continued his training, a student at the ninja academy of the village.
As the teacher gave his lecture on battle tactics, the young Hyuga, Shao Hyuga, kept to his book on his desk. Shao was a quiet, mindful student. In terms of his grades and performance in the academy, he was on the upper end of the learning curve and stood out for his academia achievements.
However, his flaws were that he was more intellectual than other Hyuga, such as his father, preferred. As a member of the head branch, the clan was dedicated to the art of Taijutsu, to increase their abilities and Kekkei Genkai. Shao was growing strong in ninjutsu, even genjutsu, but he was physically weaker-- and suffered against his taijutsu exercises at an early age.
Needless to say, his father and others of his clan had misgivings about him. they doubted his ability to uphold the Hyuga clan's name or ability. In terms of his family, he was looked down upon.
"Shao," the instructor's voice called, causing him to look up from his book. "Tell me, what are the three important conditions that must be followed for a successful ambush to occur?"
Shao closed his book without a hesitation. " A successful ambush tactic requires complete silence, aware of their enemies position that are pursuing them. and strike back at a location where the defending party can do a lot of damage quickly and conceal themselves. They require a geographic location that is well known to them. " he said, almost word for word from a text book.
The instructor nodded with a smile. "Excellent work, Shao. Well deduced," the man said, "However, what tactic can be used to stop an ambush?"
Shao didn't hesitate, his white eyes kept forward with focus. "A key way to avoid ambushes is to know your terrain, like I said. Another method is to have a member of a squad be far behind in reserve, to aid the main group should an ambush occurs. "
"Excellent." he said, and returned to the blackboard.
Shao returned to read his book, but was distracted by a grunt in his direction. In the row beside him, one of the students glared at him bitterly.
Kyle-- another academy kid like him. He didn't know much about him, but he was a spunky, rambunctious kid in the school. He was always picking fights or being too loud. It wasn't that he was a loser or anything like that. However, he probably was better in Taijutsu than Shao was.
He gave a crossed look at him, but Shao just ignored it and returned to his book.
As the bell tolled for the next class, Chakra Control education, Shao packed up his book and made his way out of class with the other students.
"Shao, wait up!" a student called. He turned to see a familar face. A young girl with brown long hair. She had green eyes and a cute face that made Shao hesitate. One of his friends-- Mari. "Good work in class today. "
"Oh, um... thanks, Mari," he replied modestly.
"HEY!, Hyuga!" another voice jolted at him. Looking back, both of them were faced to face with Kyle. The darker skinned kid with his wild white hair faced him and got right up into Shao's face. "I Bet you think you're pretty smart, mr. smarty-pants."
"Um..." SHao answered, unsure what to say as the guy got right in his face.
"Kyle, stop it!" Mari said and pushed him back, even though Shao didn't flinch at Kyle's abrupt actions.
Even though they were classmates, Shao didn't know Kyle all that well, as they were in fact very different. While Shao was calm, collected and insightful, Kyle was impulsive, quick tempered and always bragged about things. Qualities that from Shao knew were unbecoming of a ninja. If not suicidal for one.
Still, Kyle glared at Shao-- as if to challenge him, but didn't voice it. Why he acted like that at Shao, he didn't know.
Mari sighed and reached over to take Shao's hand. "Come on... we are going to be late for class if we keep this up," she said and pulled Shao along.
The trip of her hand did in fact make Shao feel a little flustered, but he followed anyway. Still he looked back at Kyle, seeing the grumpy look on his face.
So, the day continued, and Shao prepared to train for the other courses he had.
