| Shao continued his training while he was among Suna. The scorching heat had settled to Shao as he was able to adjust to it-- though he stopped wearing the kung fu tunic he wore so often and just a simple mesh shirt when he was out of the village. The heat just wouldn't allow him to cover up as he would.
Shao now sat cross-legged upon the sand, observing the land around him and how the heat distorted the view. Even with his Byakkugan, he was sensing an odd flux to the surroundings. It was the heat starting to play tricks on his mind.
This time, however, his training was not alone as Kyle insisted to join him.
"Shao... I can't tell if you are a genius or insane to train in this heat..." Kyle whined as he sat down and rolled back. He was sweating buckets that sizzled on the hot sand. "What's the point of being out here! Heat-resistance training before we sizzle to death like eggs on the sidewalk?!"
Shao was sitting calmly and looked out with hands in his lap. "The point of this training Kyle is to build up our resistance to Genjutsu. The desert was a good place for it. As it requires mental endurance."
"Eh?" Kyle asked, a slack-jawed look on his dark face.
Shao glanced at him, unsure if he was just hallucinating from the heat or just that slow-witted. But then again, he knew Kyle wasn't the brightest when it came to things like Genjutsu or ninja tactics. Shao took a breath and explained. "Kyle, you know Genjutsu is one of the three tools of a Shinobi. While I admit I don't know Genjutsu that well, it is a fatal jutsu that could cripple and make us open to attacks. So it is important we work on building a resistance against it. Even with my Byakkugan, I cannot afford to not train in its defense. "
Kyle just frowned and leaned forward. "Again... why here in the desert?" he asked.
Shao blinked slowly. "The desert's heat causes mirages, right? What better way to test our mental endurance than try to endure the mirages and see through them." he explained, "Doesn't that make sense?"
The tone wasn't sarcasm, but perhaps Shao was unsure if he was being clear. Despite Kyle's behavior and lack of ninjutsu knowledge, SHao knew he had a habit of using bigger words than necessary.
"Hmmm... alright... but lets not stay out too late. I prefer training in air conditioning..." he said and sat back down.
Shao smirked, glad to know that Kyle understood. With that, they went back and meditated under the sun-- observing the mirages and working to figure out what was real and what was a mirage.
(Training End) Bonus +1.10 from quick learner.
