Shrine of Kuubi (Quest)

Well, this was it huh? Didn't look to awful impressive for a shrine to a protector, then again Fuu hadn't managed to get inside yet. She was told that the shrine was protected by fire, but she didn't see anything like that around. This made her cautious so before she could justify getting closer she would need to test that, She picked a stick from a tree and chucked it into the entrance. Nothing happened... Maybe it was just rumors? Fuu rolled her eyes, people were so superstitious sometimes. She picked herself up and strolled casually up to the stone entrance, two big foxes surrounding it and placed her foot on the first part of the stone.

As soon has her foot hit the stone she had to jump back as the whole platform burst into flames, incinerating the little stick from earlier. She sweated, "uh, I guess they weren't so crazy after all. Guess i'm gonna need to think of a way around that." She knew it didn't react to the stick so maybe it was just sensing her chakra? She figured that maybe it was the reverse principal of walking on trees. She removed chakra from her feet, only the faintest traces of it could possibly remain there. She made a move to step on the stone once more, concentrating on the frustrating feeling of removing chakra from her feet. The flames licked up once more and sent her jumping back.

She scrunched her eyes at it. "So, that's how it's gonna be huh." She grit her teeth, running directly at the stone in a bid to out run the fire. There was no way she was going to let the stupid temple out smart her. She hit the spot and the fire lit up but she was already full tilt into it and the fire licked at her heel. She only got two steps before the fire was in front of her and she had to jump out. She landed back down and shook her head at it. She tried to remember what it was that the guy that told her about it said was here. Something about having been a monument to the nine tail's rage or something like that, was it because she was getting frustrated? she needed to come up with a plan.

She tried to calm herself down, it was going to be difficult to get inside if she was going to be angery at it, especially if that was something that triggered it. She focused on her mind, clearing her thoughts, she emptied her mind closed off to the world around her. She closed her eyes and started walking, the grass was nice, she could hear it crunch under her feet, a soothing sound. She stepped onto the stone, and didn't feel any fire on her, good. She took another step, so far so good and then she tripped on a step and stubbed her toe. "sonova-" she hopped back as the fire started up again. well dang.

She couldn't even do that right this was going to be annoying. She decided to try something different. Alright, maybe we get up there to Doing some Fire type manipulation huh? She walked over and put her foot on top of the stone and attempted to mold her fire chakra into a shape around herself, this did not work as well as she had wanted. At first the fire did not touch her but at the very next step the fire didn't move away and she had to push even harder. The more steps she took, the harder that it was to move the fire away.

She got near the entrance and then, the fire formed up, into the shape of the fox and leaped at her, she jumped back. she landed back away from the entrance, right where she started, it was the worst possible situation. "Dangit, I just reacted. I probably could have gotten past that. Guess I'll go again, stupid fire." She stomped up and started the process over again. One step at a time, she made her way back to the real entrance. The fire wanted to push even harder, over and over again she stepped and the fire raged again and she was soon standing at the door again.

The flaming Fox formed once more but this time she was ready for it, She raised her hand at it and channeled the fire once again and waded through the fire. It was thick like water, something about it was different but she continued pushing although the fire didn't burn her it was starting to push her back. She flew away, and rolled onto the grass. obviously this was starting to get on her nerves, but she decided that she could better move past it if she could just, let go. It was hilarious, almost that something so odd was really here, she started giggling. She giggled louder and louder, and started stepping forward with her fire chakra.

This time the fire didn't burn it caressed, it heightened her feelings of joy, tickling the bottoms of her feet and her arms. She had not trouble taking steps now, she practically danced up there. The fire demon fox or whatever didn't bother forming this time, nothing could stand in her way as she passed the entrance into the chamber. As soon as she passed the thresh hold she could feel the fire stop and the giddy feeling fell off as the cool chamber caught her attention. A statue of the beast was here, large and terrifying, angry looking and fully made of stone. It was weird, how was the chamber cool when there was fire outside the door.

She walked up to the statue, so apparently it was actually the protector of the land of fire back in the day. She considered what could have changed it into being so angry, but then again she didn't know much about the tailed beasts, she knew a bit about shikaku but other than that almost nothing. She looked at the statue, it was very emotive, angry and almost sad. She caught her eyes leaking, he looked so sad. so very sad that she couldn't help it. She cried and dropped down. "Why is he so sad, I don't get it."

She wept there for a moment not really understanding why she was so overwhelmed with emotions but it felt good to cry. She wiped her eyes from it and stood back up, glancing at the statue. She clasped her hands together in front of it so as to thank it for it's service. "I hope you're happier now than you were when this was made. I'd hate to think you stayed sad and angry and lonly forever" She turned away from it and walked out the door she had come in. The fire didn't flare up at her not this time, after she had drained herself of all her emotions like that.
