Another kunai then came towards Tsukasa, who swiftly dodged it. And he readied himself to fire back at the opponent, when suddenly a man ran out of the cover of the sand. He even had a sword raised! Unfortunately for him, Tsukasa was prepared for much worse.

The Mibu thrust his hand forward, and shocked the man. The bandit fell over, comatose but he’d live. Tsukasa clicked his tongue “A decent strategy, if only you had a better partner for it.” After Tsukasa said that, two more bandits would run out of the sand. And boy were they PISSED.

The boy would move a few steps back and unsheathe his sword.

The man swung forward with the blade. It was elegeant, forceful, but most of all, it was familiar. It looked exactly like one of Tsukasa’s attacks! Reo dodged the blade and tried to throw a kick, only to be forced backwards by another swing of the blade.
 
Reo grit his teeth and swung his fist, regardless of whether the blade was swinging or not. Reckless? Maybe. But, Reo did plan it out somewhat. He was going to shatter this man’s face or his blade. He trusted his fist to do that.
 
The sword fell on Reo’s hand.
 
The sword shattered on Reo’s hand. The fist flew through the blade and smashed into the sword user’s face. He coughed as he roll from his back onto his stomach and pushed himself up. “Damnit. Master Ares paid good money for that blade.”

Tsukasa took a few more steps back and started to access his situation. The two bandits in front of him were both wielding weapons, one was using a staff, and the other a nunchaku. Nothing bad, the boy was confident in his chances. But he still had to worry about the other bandit. If he got careless, that bandit could potentially snipe him. Tsukasa had hoped to disable him with Raiton, but the other bandit chose to jump in at that time. Doubt he’d get the time to ready another jutsu anytime soon.

So he needed a plan. But to form a plan, he needed to know more. Like, how was the bandit aiming so well with all of this sand? Was he using a tool?

“Die!” The bandit with the staff ran up to the Genin, and tried to hit Tsukasa right in the head with it. The boy rolled to the side, and readied to counter attack. However, right then a kunai flew in and knocked the blade right out of his hand!

Reo was blissfully unaware of Tsukasa’s situation. The man in front of him had said a name, Ares. Who was that?
 
“Who is Ares?” Reo asked, his voice echoing his thoughts perfectly. He stood over the man despite being only twelve years old.
 
“Ares..Tch. Wouldn’t you like to know. Can’t figure out who Apollo is nor can you figure out who Ares is.” The man said as he reached into his pocket. Reo jumped back and took a defensive posture, but it wasn’t a kunai as he had expected. The man pulled out a pill and swallowed it.
 
Within seconds foam was pouring out of his mouth. Reo could tell from where he was standing that the man had stopped breathing.

The other bandits would run at Tsukasa, and swung his nunchaku at the boy. Unfortunately, the boy couldn’t move out of the way in time and he got smacked. And he fell to the ground, hurt. The other bandit then decided to kick the boy’s side. “That’s what you get for shocking my friend, you dumb kid!” He then did another kick for good measure.

Then, the third bandit would run up. And grabbed the first bandit’s shoulder. “Hey, careful! We need him alive for the plan to work!” The first guy only huffed in response before moving away from Tsukasa. “Speaking of the plan, what are we gonna do now with Tani unconscious?”

“We can use him to sell the plan. You do remember the plan right?”

“We take down one of the ninjas on this team, find the team. And then convince them that we saved the brat from some actual bad dudes, and then we get into Atada Hikaru’s good graces! At which point I’ll get to know her well and marry her in a few years.”

The first bandit would hit the second on the head “I think you mean I’LL marry her!” The third bandit then grabbed the first “Calm down, we’ll all get a chance. Even though I’ll probably marry her, I’m just the better man after all.”

“LIKE HELL YOU WILL!” And so, the bandits started to argue.

And Tsukasa was starting to wish that the nunchaku had actually killed him.

Reo walked off from the dead body and towards Tsukasa and his gang of merry stooges. There was some infight and they seemed to completely forget that Tsukasa was there, nor did they notice Reo walking up, so Reo grabbed Tsukasa by the shoulder and carried the injured ninja away from the squabbling bandits. They had begun to attack each other and one was currently beating the other with nunchaku.
 
Reo doubted these people knew anything about Ares or Apollo, so he just let them be.  When they were a good distance away, Reo saw the Idol and her two remaining guards walking along towards them.

Tsukasa would thank whatever deity that sent Reo to save him. Now he wouldn’t have to listen to those fools prattle on about that idol girl. Though, he wished that Reo grabbed his tanto. But he could always attempt to get that another time. Worse case scenario would be that he’d have to buy another one. The Genin would look at Reo “Thank you… I don’t know if I could last much longer with those… idiots. They wanted to marry the girl. I just... Ugh.”

Tsukasa would then remain quiet while he tried to understand what had just happened. That plan was REALLY dumb.

The rest of the mission went rather well – all things considered. They didn’t run into anymore difficulties as they walked and – eventually – it was time to say goodbye.
 
“Thank you for guarding me” Akada said with a bow, looking specifically at Tsukasa for some reason. “I hope we meet again.”
