| Several months ago...
Along the border between River and Fire-- a small team of leaf shinobi had been traveling from a small trip between the Land of water. Due to weather conditions, and news from the west, they were forced to investigate a small disturbance. A fierce battle and violent events ensued along the borders and a small team of budding genin, along with their mentor, were asked to investigate.
The terrain was otherwise peaceful, with trees that stretched into the sunlight. The babbling rivers filled the air with music. As the team of shinobi moved through the forest path, it was hard to imagine any kind of violence had broken out. Among the team was the mature leader, an older man who wore a mask and black and golden gi. His students were one spiky-haired boy who was a transfer member of Konoha-- from the land of lightning. Kyle. And along with him, was a Konoha native, Mari -- a young brown haired good with green eyes and a kind face. Unlike Kyle, who was more energetic on the trail, she moved at a slower pace to enjoy the smells and sights of nature around her.
Things were calm and the thoughts of any danger was not in their minds as they decided they would head back to Konoha-- no real danger in sight.
"Well, it seems our intel might have been off," Yasha explained, looking around.
The two main members continued to go down the trail that would lead to Konoha, but Mari observed the river at the bottom of the slope, watching how the waters sparkled in the sunlgiht that passed through the trees. River country seemed to radiate a strong peaceful chakra that just made her feel so at ease...
... till she saw something in the water that caught her attention. Her eyes widened as she saw something adrift in the river. At first, she thought it was a trick of the light, but soon showed something adrift--- a person on his back floating down the river, seemingly unconscious.
"Kyle! Yasha-Sensei!" Mari cried out as she drew their attention back to the water. "Hurry! THere is a boy in the river!"
Not waiting, Mari quickly jumped into action and headed for the water. Easily walking on the water's surface with chakra control, she quickly reached the adrift person and found him. Out cold and barely afloat on the water, she pulled him to shore by his shirt-- where Yasha and Kyle both waited.
Freed from the river-- they got a look at him. Mari already had her hands on his chest-- the healing palm technique in effect as Mari was their medic to treat him with medical ninjutsu. "He's breathing... that's a good sign. He was just floating down unconscious... I can't believe he didn't drown..." She said to the others.
"Something must of happened to him," Yasha said, looking up river. "No way to tell how far up river he came from."
Not finding any wounds, Mari soon tried to rouse the boy. "Hey.. Hey, can you hear me? Wake up? Are you alright?" she called out to him.
The blue haired boy's eyes tightened in his sleep, opening just lightly to see Mari above him, along with Kyle and the masked man. Torn between confusion, panic and exhaustion, he could only acknowlege they were there.
"Can you tell us your name?" Yasha asked, calmly but firmly.
Inaudible groans came from him till he spoke up softly. "Z... Zeo... Kami... gawa..." he breathed, but soon drooped his eyes again.
From the river where they pulled him from-- something watched him. Hidden beneith the surface, and out of sight from any sense of the shinobi, two eyes looked back to them. It watched as the shinobi from the leaf cared for his safety. As he saw them hoise him up onto their teacher's shoulders and take him to safety... the eyes of the river creature vanished into the water... disappearing altogether.

| Modern Day
It had been some time since Zeo was rescued by the shinobi of Konoha. Everyone knew of them and how amazing they were as Shinobi. Though never in his young life, did Zeo think he would end up living among them.
Of course, he never imagined he would end up losing both his parents in one night before his eyes. The night of that fateful evening was seared into his mind. The fire, the violence, the enemy attack, the voices. The sight of his father slain down and his mother hiding him.
He ran, and the resulting persuers and attack forced him to fall to the river below... he should of died, till he woke up to the face of Mari and his new friends...
That was almost a year ago, and now he had to face the music of his life now. He was the only survivor of his family as far as he knew.
Zeo Kamigawa, having no clue who attacked his family or why was left with an emotionless pit in his heart. Perhaps as a shinobi that would be an asset, but he felt less alive than anything else.
He now lived in a small apartment overlooking the forest park and river. He lived realitvely close to the others if his team-- which ironically were the same shinobi who saved him from the river.
So much was left unanswered for Zeo, but for now, he had to live. He had to survive...
WHen he was rescued, Konoha could tell he had an unusual chakra. Even though he had little to no ninjutsu skill at the time, they felt with him having nowhere else to go-- finding his unusual energy worth keeping an eye on, they initialized him as a Shinobi.
He still had to undergo the exams as a student, but he had the freedom to train with his new friends to strengthen his abilities.

| Zeo was dressed in a blue jacket and slacks that he usually wore-- his blue hair parted lightly to the side that unintentionally blocked one of his eyes, but he saw perfectly all the same. He had a pair of sports headphones he wore around his neck along with a music player. His music was a daily tool to keep his mind on point. His jacket had his family crest on it-- a shinto gate that he seen on his home. The only true thing he had left from his family and something he choose to honor.
He sighed at the memory but tried to keep going.
*Knock knock!* The knock at the door turned his attention to it as he quickly came out of his room and to the entrance. He opened it-- and was greeted with the kind smile of Mari. "Good Morning, Zeo. How you doing today?"
"I'm fine..." Zeo replied, not paticularly enthusiastic. His more stoic attitude was a common thing to most. "You don't need to keep coming for me all the time, you know."
Mari just smiled kindly. "I know, but I want to. Besides, you're on the way to training after all. Besides, you have the habit of sleeping in at times..."
"Um, sorry about that..." he said, recalling how he would sleep to deal with his issues.
"Are you ready to go?" Mari asked, "We don't want to be late for Yasha Sensei's training session."
The moment Zeo nodded-- Mari took a hold of Zeo's hand and quickly dragged him off with her. He barely had time to close the door behind him as she took him by the hand and led him to the river where they usually trained. "H-hey, slow down!" he exclaimed, but Mari kept insistant to keep him going.
"Come on," she encouraged, "you can do it."
When Zeo was rescued, he suffered some damage to his body from the fall but it more or less was just muscle lack for his age. He was encouraged to go into training to help build up his body as a shinobi but also as a form of physical therapy for his recovery. ALl of which Mari encouraged him to go-- due to having rescued him.
Though his memory was iffy on how he saw her from that moment, he was grateful to her, the team, and the leaf for giving him a place to call home...

| Mari more or less dragged Zeo to the training grounds by the water. There, they could see their mentor, Yasha standing upon a lone log that stood out from the flowing river. Their other teammate-- Kyle was not anywhere to be seen as of yet as they walked down the road. As they were about to descend the hill-- they heard a voice call out to them.
"Wait for meeee!!" Both Zeo and Mari stopped to turn to see a wild haired boy run towards them. It looked like a freight train how it kicked up dust and soon screeched to a hault, leaving dust and a deep trail in the ground. both coughed as they looked to find it was Kyle, who now panted from exhaustion having ran as fast as he did. "I-I'm not late. I'm here..."
Mari sighed as she looked down at Kyle. "Honestly... did you oversleep again?"
Kyle looked up, still panting with his hands on his knees. "How come you go and wake up Zeo and I am left on my own?" he complained.
"I did the first few times..." Mari said, a glare from her eyes at him and her arms crossed. "You just ignored me and kept on sleeping."
Kyle soon rose back up and got right up into Zeo. "Oh, so you're an early bird? Cause I remember you wouldn't wake up for a week, pal." he said, slightly crossed at Zeo for no real apparent reason. Still, the young blue haired boy kept his face constantly still. "Hmm? Got anything to say about that?"
"Personal space," Zeo replied simply.
Kyle's face tightened a bit in irritation. "Oh, trying to act cool huh?" he snarled, "Well' lets see how smart-mouthed you are after training today."
Kyle quickly hopped down the hill, leaving the two to sigh at his over-eager behavior. "Please pardon Kyle," Mari said, "He can be a bit impulsive, but he has a good heart. Come on, or we are going to be late. "
WIth that, Mari hopped down the hill and Zeo followed suit in a skid against the grass.
The three soon united by the edge of the river, seeing Yasha in a calm stance on one leg, as if in meditation. "Good morning," he said, without even turning around. "You all got here on time... despite some small hang ups, Kyle?"
Kyle growled as he looked to his master. "Hey, why do I get lip when Sleeping-beauty over there gets off scott free?" he said and pointed to Zeo, who only glanced at him.
Zeo just relaxed his shoulders and listened. He knew whatever his new sensei had to teach him was important.
"As you know, since Zeo is still under training at the academy and missions have been scarced of late-- we have taken him in to be our third, once he graduates the academy this week. Since we found him, the Hokage asked us to help introduce him as a SHinobi.

| Though Zeo could feel Kyle's competitive gaze, they looked to their master as he explained the exercise before them. "The first step we will be doing is working on chakra control. The goal is simple to gather chakra and this is done even the most simplist of practices," Yasha explained.
"Snore..." Kyle yawned, having known this. "I don't see why we gotta go over this because the newbie has to---"
SPlash! A sudden gush of water had cast out from the river and splashed Kyle wet with water. Yasha had not even moved but it was clear from him in retaliation. The splash made Mari chuckle, but Zeo didn't even react. He kept stoic and calm as he saw this.
"Your chakra control could use the most work Kyle," Yasha explained, his expression firm even from behind his mask. "So we are going to review the basics-- not just for Zeo's sake."
A pinge of guilt was still with Zeo as he heard this. "I'm sorry. I know having me around is a hinderance..."
"It's fine, Zeo," Mari encouraged, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We all want to help you progress. Right, Kyle?"
Kyle spat out some water as he glanced away. "Yeah, whatever..." he said, stubbornly feinting that he couldn't care less.
"Now, " Yasha explained, "All of you begin by forming a hand sign and focus on your chakra-- your energy. Use this to gather and build chakra. Then focus to maintain it."
The group of 3 focused on gathering their chakra, and Zeo followed with them. Despite how ninja training was new to him, chakra still flowed easily. He remembered bits of it long before-- seeing how his father had used ninjutsu for common gardening and even to entertain him as a child using water.
Zeo could feel chakra swell up in his body, the training going well.

| They spent a good half hour working on chakra control while Yasha stood upon the water and observed them. As it turned out, Zeo was doing well with chakra control and building up chakra well in his body. While Kyle did well, his gaining was slower than most-- while Mari had a steady gain as well. Out of all of them, Mari probably had the most natural control of their chakra control.
Yasha smiled as he saw their progress. "Okay, everyone," he said and clapped his hands to rattle their concentration. "That's enough of chakra control for now. On to our next routine."
As they all came out of their focus, they stood in attention. "Next will be Taijutsu training."
"YES!" Kyle shouted, showing no hesitation to his joy.
Zeo let out a light groan and frowned deeper as he realized it was his worst topic. As a child he had a more frailer frame, and always been more intellectual than physical to begin with. Mari picked up on that easily and just gave a reassuring look to him.
"Kyle, Zeo, would you please step up," Yasha asked.
Zeo watched as Kyle eagerly hopped up and grinned almost wickedly at Zeo-- having wanted to knock him around for a while now. "Is there any chance I can step down from this?" Zeo asked neutrally.
"Aww... is someone afraid of getting a boo-boo>?" Kyle mocked, teasing him a bit. "Come on, Zeo. You need to build up some muscle anyway."
Yasha shook his head. "You need to learn some basics and its part of your rehabilitation to be able to build up some muscle. Besides, you may be forced into a situation when you need to engage an enemy close up." he explained.
Zeo groaned a little as Kyle quickly entered a fighting stance, fists up and hopping back and forth on his heels. "Come on, blue-boy," he whistled, mocking the blue color of his attire. "Show me what you got."
Reluctantly, Zeo took up an open-handed fighting stance, one prepared for defense. The first blow came and already he was on the defensive-- but he soon tried to hold his own as the blow came up for him--- and Zeo moved to the left, and attempted to deliver a strong blow to Kyle's jaw.
