There are a lot of rumors and myths surrounding the Jiin Clan of Hidden Stone Village. One of the many rumors is that the Jiin Clan is a religious cult. This rumor is only half true. Modern Jiin are very religious however in their earlier days, during the Phoenix Dynasty they were a group of small, but effective assassins. Many of their techniques that they consider holy and sacred were used many times in assassinations. Because of their position in the Hidden Stone Village as priests it is no surprise that there are large parts of their records that are considered “lost.”
At the time of the Phoenix Dynasty the Jiin Clan only consisted of 5 shinobi, a Father and his four sons made began to lay the foundation for the Jiin Clan. One of their most effective tactics were disguising themselves as priests in order to get close to their target and eliminate them using their holy flames. Perhaps it is because of this tactic that many began to associate them with being priests. Although small, the Jiin Clan became a deadly whisper throughout the land. Many knew of them, but didn’t know who they were, or if they even existed.
Another bit of little known information involving the Jiin Clan is their Kekkei Genkai, The Tengan. Many believe that the Tengan main use is fire and fire manipulation. However, this is only concerning the modern Tengan. The Post-Crisis Tengans were the original Tengans and considerably stronger than the modern Tengan. The Post-Crisis Tengan belongs to the 5 shinobi whom started the Jiin Clan. The abilities of the Original Tengan extended beyond that of fire and thermal techniques. The power of the Jiin Clan have way more to offer than just their Fire abilities, however most have it has been lost by time.
