“Well since you’re standing now; let’s see if you can’t move around a little.” Kin walked away from Inshitsu only to bend over to pick up a few stray pebbles off the ground. Inshitsu put his hand to his forehead to massage it. In the corner of his eye, he saw a gray blur coming towards his right ear, and rolled to the left to avoid it hoping that he wasn’t moving in front of another. The click of stone on stone told him that training had started without her saying. He moved his hand back to his side and made sure to focus his eyes on her, but mostly her rock pets.

The whistle of air past his left ear told him that he had just stopped short of another pebble that she had thrown. Inshitsu mumbled to himself to watch out for other pebbles that she may be tossing later. He stared at her and noticed that she seemed to be neglecting to move at all. On a hunch, Inshitsu tilted his head to left and wasn’t surprised to hear the familiar whistle of a pebble flying by. He sighed and shut his eyes in order to allow himself to focus on the disturbance in nearby sounds. He stood for several seconds before he heard a soft puff noise of air escaping from under something. He stopped his breathing to further enhance the clarity of the sound and was able to hear the puffing sound become louder and closer. Something in him grasped on a plan without him realizing, and he rolled towards what he would discover to be the source of the noise and attempted to sweep it out.

His guess checked out as he felt his leg connect with a sturdy object that was invisible to his sight. “Whoa!” Kin suddenly appeared as if she was there the whole time, falling towards the ground with hands already out in front of her to catch herself from hitting the rocky surface. ‘This time,’ Inshitsu thought, ‘I think I get to smirk’. Putting on the right face, Inshitsu walked over to the woman holding herself above the ground and opened his mouth to taunt her, but was interrupted by her own sudden sweep on Inshitsu’s leg from the rocky ground.

Kin’s sweep was less than effective on Inshitsu, who simply placeed his other foot on the ground to recover from the sudden attack, and leaned over the defenseless woman who was now turned over on her back. “So who won that one, lazy pants?” Inshitsu made sure to hurt himself for the lack of a creative nickname for Kin, who even groaned at the name. “I think I still do,” Kin’s hand twitched as she started to tighten it around something. “I don’t think you do.” Inshitsu, tensing before doing so, pressed both of Kin’s hands to the ground to render them useless. “Thought you more of a gentleman rather than this,” Kin’s voice actually sounded rather scared to Inshitsu’s ears. Inshitsu loosened his grip on her hands to see if that would help resettle her. “My-”

.”-Bad.” The word comes out after Kin tears her hand out of Inshitsu’s grip to throw a pebble at what he guessed was going to be his head. Upon release of the pebble, Inshitsu was surprised to see it aimed remarkably lower than expected. Inshitsu’s gasp of sudden pain caused Kin to look at what she had really thrown at. Inshitsu’s hands covered the bruised area as he curled up to comfort it. “Um…my bad?” Kin could not help but be confused at the man’s overreaction to the pain he just felt. From what it looked like , she had nailed him in the area slightly beside his stomach. ‘Where else could I’ve… hit…oh I’m an idiot. Kin knelt next to the shinobi that she so indecently hurt.

Kin placed her hand on to the shoulder of the shaking boy. Inshitsu heard a silence that was so strange it seemed that Kin had run a blank on what to say. Inshitsu steeled himself to wait for the right moment to pull the second part of his plan. Kin leaned in slowly to soothe the pain from her impact of the pebble. ‘Let’s do this…’ Inshitsu shot out his left arm and grabbed Kin’s right arm. Kin gasped in shock as Inshitsu slammed his weight against her and pinned her other arm with his left. He sat on Kin’s stomach to keep her weighed down and unable to move with her upper body.

Kin started to fight against Inshitsu’s grip, but even using her entire strength, Kin could not throw Inshitsu off from on top of her. “Are you feeling proud of yourself? You overpowered a woman that was worried about you.” Kin’s words passed through Inshitsu’s ears without meaning anything to him. He didn’t let up his grip on the woman, “I think I win, after all, you can’t exactly do anything.” Kin’s struggle against Inshitsu became weaker and weaker until the woman eventually stopped trying to get the man off from on top of her. “Fine, you win this time. Trust me on this; I’ll get you back for this.” The words barely dented Inshitsu’s smile on her defeat.

Inshitsu eased his force off the woman and started to rise back to his full height. Kin climbed back to a standing position and rubbed her wrists to soothe the pain caused by Inshitsu’s pin. “I think I deserve an award for that,” Inshitsu truly could not diguise his pride of pinning a top assassin in the Brotherhood. Inshitsu’s head shot up as he heard a clap from behind and turned to realize that Kin had sidestepped him in his moment of glory. “Oh, I was just trying to help you celebrate your victory. Was it too much, or did you want me to grab some party poppers?” Kin’s smile looked sinister and caused Inshitsu to break into a light sweat over her ideas.

“Kin, you aren’t angry are you?” The question seemed to cause something about Kin’s posture to stiffen as if she was insulted for even hearing the words leave Inshitsu’s mouth. “Why would I be insulted over a simple question? You know what profession I’m in; words are certainly the least of my worries. ” Even as the words were spoken through her mouth, she still had yet to relax her body after stiffening up. Inshitsu seemed to be at a lost of words due to the lack of an outburst from Kin. Observing her stance, his only guest was that she seemed to waiting on something to happen. Inshitsu could only hope that her patience wasn’t on him.

Sighing at Kin’s attitude, Inshitsu turned to look at the open mouth of cave and watched as the waterfall shined with a light bronze color as sunlight hit the rushing water. He felt a sharp pain on the right side of his neck. He raised his hand to feel what had caused the pain in his neck, and felt a metal spike poking out of his neck. He started to turn towards the only other person within the cave, but his vision started to blur in front of him. He struggled to keep his balance, and fell to the cavern’s floor. He watched as a pale blur started to come towards him. As the blur stopped in front of him, his vision turned to black as his mind began to shut down from the poison within in his body.

Inshitsu shook awake, lying on the sandy ground that he had fallen asleep at during the night. The sun rested at its morning spot, and the water reflected the mellow glow of the sun’s light. Inshitsu felt the spot that he had felt the needle hit and was surprised when he found that it seemed as though it was healed. Rising to his feet, Inshitsu dusted off his bottom as he looked back towards inland of Hikari and sighed. Inshitsu walked back towards the city and whispered under his breath, “Don’t worry, I’ll get you back you little prankster.” Inshitsu couldn’t hear the soft giggle that had occurred behind him as he left the beach behind.
