Training for Asura: Katon X 1 & CHakra Control X1 (With Training Dummy)

Step, step step... crunch, crunch, crunch! The sound of his feet upon the tree echoed as he made his attempts up it! He was doing a good job so far, using his chakra to climb up the tree without using his hands. it was part of his chakra control training so he could use the power of fire better.

However, he would get near the top before.... "WHAAA!!"

Thud! He landed on the ground. Luckily the ground was soft but still, the fall more bruised his pride than anything else. "Damn it..." Asura groaned. He rubbed the back of his head and sat up.

Near the end of the training grounds, his master Roku watched patiently. "Remember to focus the chakra to your feet. The balance must be precise. Too much will force you off the tree and too little, you will fall off. " he explained.

"Yeah... I got it," Asura groaned as he stood up. With the Kunai in his hand, he tried again.

This time he got far enough and slashed the top most part of the branch. It was interesting how he could move so much lighter now thanks to his chakra. Soon he would be able to do it without running, or even carrying something heavy. At least that was how the usual training went.

Jumping down-- this time on his feet, Asura stopped near Master Roku. "Very good. NOw we shall go back to fire training... but this time this will incorporate the new powers of Fire you are training. To truly master Katon, you must cooperate chakra control and fire as one." Roku explained in a sage like manner.

"HOw is that?" Asura asked.

Approaching the dummy himself, Roku made the same deep breathing expression. "Your goal here is to focus your chakra now to your lungs. This is much harder than simple tree climbing as it will require you to bring your chakra to your lungs, an almost involuntary part of your body." he explained. "We naturally breath. What is hard is to focus chakra to any body part that works almost independent on its own... such as say, the eyes," he hinted, wanting Asura to pick up what he meant.

Asura gave his master a serious look. "You mean the Tengan?" he asked.

"Exactly." Roku said. "Anyway back to the point at hand. As I said before, the power of fire comes from the breath. Just as fire, your own body and muscles require oxygen to run. What you must do is make your chakra grow with your breath. Focus your breath in..." he inhaled a deep breath. "And out..." and exhaled the same way.

On the surface, it looked just like simple breathing. Asura was a bit puzzled but he listened regardless. "IN time, you will be able to do that and allow it to grow into this---"

With two brief hand signs, Roku shot out a burst of fire from his mouth and it turned into a small dragon. It flew foreward and singed the dummy, but not too much to burn it.

Asura had a surprised look on his face. What Master Roku said made alot of sense and he just saw how the slow process of that jutsu was created.

"Now, you practice. Remember to breath and with each breath, focus your chakra to your lungs. Allow it to grow and recede with each breath you take." Roku explained.

Without a word, Asura took his place before the training dummy and began to breathe. He closed his eyes as he focused. This time it was not about simple breath. He focused on that breathing, and trying to make his chakra come towards his own lungs. Roku was right-- it was harder this time. It wasn't moving chakra to a single set of muscles, but to a vital part of the body. It was harder to grasp this time as Asura willed his chakra there.

FOr a while, it was nothing-- however, unknown to him, the chakra was slowly beginning to fill up his lungs little by little. Like a flame, it grew with every inhale, and shrink with each exhale.

In the training to follow, that chakra amount would grow even stronger in given time. It was just a matter of time...
