| Barrius was another breed of ninja in which Kaitou had not encountered. For one, His moves were all unorthodox. They had no rhyme rhythm, or patten. Not only that, Kaitou’s blows seemed to do no damage to him. At one point Kaitou stabbed a kunai knife directly into the mans gut and he’d shrugged it off. Around him, Kaido & Seiryuu were fending of Jashin one by on(or two by two in Seiryuu’s case). “i Have to admit, you dance well” Barrius said licking his lips. Kaitou seemed semi creeped out. Suddenly Barrius’ body began to undergo a transformation. “This begins NO-“ “Enough!” A deep and heavy voice appeared. Kaitou, Kaido, & Seiryuu all stopped and were frozen in fear. Each one knew that voice and the tone. The Jashin were scary but father, he was an entire demon all by himself in which none of the children wanted to mess with. Barrius saw this as an opportunity to make A strike. Kaitou turned his head and noticed Barrius moving but not towards him. Kaitou turned to Kaido and screamed but it was too late. Father, Seiryuu, and Kaitou watched as Kaido’s head fell off with a blank expression and showed no pain. Seiryuu screamed at the sight. Kaitou fell to his knees frozen with fear, grief and agony.
“AHAHAHAH PRAISE BE TO JASHIN THE GOD OF ALL EVIL!” Barrius laughed. But in a second, His head was gone and behind him stood father. Barrios’ lifeless body and decapitated head dropped to the floor. Suddenly a white flame encompassed the entire body of Barrius. “Go Home” Father said coldly. Now was not the time to grieve. Kaitou knew if he angered his father more, He and Seiryuu would be the next to fall to the grave. He walked over to Seiryuu and placed his arm around her as she sobbed. “We have to leave now” He muttered to her in silence. The remaining Jashin who were there parted as the red sea and watched both children walk him in silence.
A week had past and the funeral had come. The family of Kaitou stood at the front overlooking the burning corpse. Overhead thunder boomed in the grey clouds. “Your brother…” Kaitou’s mother said in a hushed tone so that only Kaitou could hear, “He’s free now from our curse.” Kaitou looked up to his mother with pleading eyes.
Back at the home, Kaitou sat against the wall. “It was my fault. I went into battle knowing we couldn’t handle it.” He said to himself. Suddenly tears welled up in his eyes. It was the first time he’d cried since the death of his brother. “I let Kaido die” He said as he punched the ground in anger. | |
