(Yes, I agree Ready)

That really irritated Asura-- and even sharing the sentiment, the tiger also cast a growl at Naga. However, Asura kne wwhat he was doing. He summoned the beast sure, but he didn't even need alot of chakra to summon him and recoverable on their trip alone. "You think you can take my eyes? Why you little."

"THAT'S ENOUGH!!" ROKU ROARED, stiffiling to both of them.

The tiger even too shrinked at the roar. Roku now stood directly before them, and he was not happy. "Asura, you are not to antagonize your fellow clan member, especially when our situation is still important. I tolerated your rivalry thus far, knowing it would make you stronger-- but I will not see you jeopardize a mission over it. " It was then that Roku turned to Naga. "And YOU-- I may not be your master but I am still your elder to the Jiin clan. You are in no right to threaten to take away Asura's eyes. And since I am an elder to the clan, if any judgements are to be made it is mine. Now both of you get your acts together-- or I will have you both water walk the rest of the way to the island. Is that clear?!"

Master ROku was truly scary when he wanted to be. Asura had all but gulped down all his words and felt the urge to back away as if the anger in his eyes and red robes reminded him of the truth of Roku's past. Why he was called Roku the Red Sage.

"Y-Yes, sir" Asura said and lowered his head. With that, he turned to Zulian Tiger and with a final pat on the head, he made a hand sign. "Release". Zulian tiger vanished in a puff of smoke, not letting any further jutsu happen so that they all could focus on the mission at hand. On that point, Asura admitted it. He made an error letting Kenji rattle him like this. But he would prove his worth in the mission when the time was right.

+ Ah, the lovely and mystical island of Otsutsuki. It is said that the island was mysteriously formed by unknown means. Its believed that Naruto and Sasuke created the land for themselves to show respect to the ancestors of past. But nobody truly knows that for sure as history did not record it. Um, I wonder why that is…

Hitoshii Sea

- The cool sea breeze continued to blow across the ships top side allowing everyone to relax within the rays of the sun as the light would continue to beat down on their bodies. It became later as the high noon was showing from the view of the sun. Though soon enough it changed as light was seeing coming from the center of the island. But the captain was the first to speak loudly, “LAND HO!” getting everyone’s attentions to turn seeing the land. It was soon changed that after noticing enemy forces had appeared on the land. Sighing to this the Captain yelled back to everyone, “Listen up everyone seems we have a problem enemies dead ahead.” Soon other shinobis nodded turning to their guests, “It seems they will not come at us but once you reach shore be ready for a hell of a fight if anything. Please take a boat or you can walk across if anything the choice is yours but be on guard at most.”

The Captain seemed to not wish for his men to get hurt but bowed down to his guest yelling out, “When you get to shore it seems the light is coming from the center of the area make your way there and be swift about it.”

- The shores showed a strange group of figures that were golden and silver it was like a strange game it seemed but they stood tall guarding the area and the island from harm or anyone even coming near it. Yet for one to make it to the center of the island you’d have to go through as another shinobi with a byakugan triggered seeing the massive chakra barrier around the sky. Leaving only the land and shores to be opened for entrance.

(Past) Battle of Mantan Uchiha Vs Naruto and Sasuke Uchiha

- The boys obtained the power of the six sage seeing they are the strongest shinobi now within the world to save their era that pushed forward against this new enemy. Though the future allowed many things to be born. As the young boy Sasuke would appear with his black lightning chidori aiming at Mantan the boy was stopped suddenly only to notice the black lightning was being absorbed into the body of the Uchiha. Naruto released his chakra only to have it soon stop working for him afterwards as Mantan smiled staring at boys.

Mantan Uchiha You know its interesting, the theory of splitting the powers of a bijuu is so possible as the beast are nothing but chakra with a false layer of skin. So you have their powers within you Uzumaki Naruto…but then I figured something…what happens when the halves are absorbed back into a whole.

-Soon Naruto would feel the powers of each bijuu slowly being drained from his body towards Mantan as Sasuke would appear to stop the force but only be caught as well feeling the sage’s powers leaving his body having him starting to lose the seal on his hand.

Sasuke Uchiha W-who are you…

Naruto Uzumaki Yeah, first…Madara then..this this freak appears…

-Smiling Mantan whispered saying softly to the boys, “Im the reason the future doesn’t exist.” Their eyes widen only with fear as they began to accept the end of the road for them or so they believed.

Narrator
+ Oh no, the past its rapidly changing I wonder how this will turn out for our future. The era is still in danger but these figures seem to be blocking the way…so how do you make it through the enemies to reach the center. Hmmm a massive amount of chakra is coming from the whole but those figures their colors seem to be a pattern for a reason I guess the best way is to defeat them and make it to the center. Have fun and go wild but be sure to remember chakra you use is gone until you heal it back.

The boat ride got a whole lot more quieter after Roku chewed out Naga and Asura. Now both Naga and Asura were behaving and also sleeping. It was peaceful finally on the ship, even now as soon the sun rose high in the sky and...

"LAND HO!!" the captain shouted, the deck hands now rushing about the ship to prepare.

Asura soon woke up and seeing the activity, jumped up himself. He didn't even recognize that he had been sleeping a few feet away from Naga. If he did, he would of been repulsed. Jumping up, he saw everyone moving and then saw it. The island. It was indeed a strange looking island. In the distance past the forest and jungle inside it, he could see a pillar or light emitting from it.

Hopping up on the crow's nest once more, Asura looked over the island and could see why the captain was alarmed. Strange creatures roamed the shore as well as inside the island interior. They looked fearsome and odd as well, these gold and silver serpents. But Asura was not too concerned about an enemy whose strength was in numbers. It was child's play for the likes of him.  "Oh this is gonna be fun" he said to himself. Still he remembered they had to conserve chakra. If he overexerted himself against these minions, they would be sitting ducks.

After which, Asura jumped down and joined the others as they were briefed. THe captain stood there and explained"  “Listen up everyone seems we have a problem enemies dead ahead. It seems they will not come at us but once you reach shore be ready for a hell of a fight if anything. Please take a boat or you can walk across if anything the choice is yours but be on guard. When you clear the area, head towards the light at the center of the island. Hurry!” the captain summarized more or less.

Asura then punched a fist into his other palm, his blood surging as if it was on fire with excitement. "Its about time!" he said, appearing a bit overconfident but that was just how he was. "Time to skin some lizards." He said and quickly ran for the head of the ship. He grabbed his pack and swung it over his shoulder.

Seeing Asura's charge, Roku looked alarmed. "Wait Asura! Don't just charge--" he said but was too late.

All too ready to start, Asura jumped off the ship and onto the water below. Using his chakra to walk on water, he immediately sprinted off for battle! His feet left off splatters of water behind him as he ran, his arms behind him but as he sprinted forward, he reached for his sword-- Shinkou. The red hilt short sword glimmered as he drew it, the embroidering of the blade showing the flames of the Jiin on it. With his sword in hand, he sprinted forward to the shore, already getting the attention of the snake people at the shore.

"ASURA!!" ROku shouted out but he was too far. He then let out a sigh and turned to Naga. "That fire in him will kill him one day. I know that you two get along, but please Naga, please try to work with him. He will indeed fail without someone dependable. I must stay here to help coordinate strategy, and will join you in due time. For now help him out." he said and turned to talk to the captain.

Meanwhile, Asura had reached the shore and the snakes immediately began to make their way for him.

As the first silver snake lunged to get Asura, the red ninja easily jumped over his head, moving like a blazing flame itself. He flipped over head and weaved around several of the humanoid snakes. They were snakes pretty much but had torsos, heads and arms as they tried to reach him. Asura moved elegantly and sliced at one with his sword, the blade cutting through it as he aimed to make his way to the forest.

"Don't have time to play with you guys," Asura said with a laugh, looking behind him as he ran. " I got a hot date with a--"

WHAM!!

Asura suddenly hit head first into something hard and threw him back. It was like he had rammed into a brick wall but he knew that there was nothing physical there. However as he fell flat on his ass on the sandy beach. He looked up and soon saw it. It was a barrier of chakra with strange runes glowing upon it, showing a number as well reading '100' on it. The nature of the barrier eluded Asura as he was not exactly a specialist on seals so it was something he didn't know much on.  However, it was clear he was not getting past it as it was a dome shaped seal, eclipsing the interior of the island.

"Just great..." he said till he heard a hiss behind him. Looking up and back, he looked up to see the face of one of the man snakes. "Yes, can I help you?" He said in an almost comical sense of humor to cure his disappointment.

THe snake didn't wait as it reached down to attack and tear Asura up. However, Asura didn't wait as he quickly spun around in a twist and kick of his legs, striking the snake's arm away and striking in an attack. In that same motion, he flipped up and jumped back to his feet. He was now backed against the barrier as the snakes closed in. He sighed, as he held his short sword.

"Meh... well I guess I can play with you guys for a while," he said,  sporting a smirk at the hissing serpents. With that, he lifted up his blade. He twirled it around in a quick form of habit, dazzling the snakes for show before he stopped the sword upon his shoulder and focused. His grip firmed on the handle now after the twirl-for-show, and now chakra channeled from his grip. In a matter of seconds, the silver blade soon began to glow with an aura of chakra. His sword was in fact a Chakra Blade and one of excellent quality. In fact Asura himself had helped in the forging of this weapon. It not only fit with his fighting style, but channeled chakra to made the seemingly insufficient weapon stronger!

He opened his eyes and glared at the serpents, a now serious intent on his face. "That should be enough chakra for the likes of them-- for now anyway. " Asura thought, and drew up his blade, the handle now held in a reverse position as he took a fighting stance.

Asura's unique fighting stance-- Tai-ken Jutsu: The FIghter's Edge. A fighting style that mixed Taijutsu with the skill of using a one handed sword, giving more power to martial arts attacks.

WIth a kick off from the sandy ground, Asura rushed forward to the first golden snake enemy. With the glowing chakra blade, he passed by its left flank and delivered a passing slash against it. As before the blade cut, but now the blade was far sharper and even reached further! The single slash had sliced cleanly through the body of the serpent, spraying blood and scales as the serpent let out a painful howl and fell to the ground.

Asura didn't wait around to admire his handiwork as he quickly aimed and sliced through two more serpents  in his dash. It was now him against many enemies for now-- at least till Naga decided to join in.  For now, he was a moving target and one with good speed as he easily weaved through each snake that tried to take a bite at him. As he moved, he noticed the odd rune-like numbers on their bodies, as he soon slew the ones who tried to attack him. Each path he made, he left a red trail of blood as red as his attire and hair. In a matter of seconds, he had slain a good group of them, startling and causing them to go into more of a frenzy.
Another snake tried to grab hold from Asura's flank-- but he soon met it as well. As the gold serpent was trying to bite at Asura's shoulder, he ducked right in time and brought the sword up. The chakra blade cleaved right through its neck, beheading the monster in a clean motion. The head went flying, landing several meters away from the body and further adding to the frenzy of the snakes.

"What?" Asura mocked the snakes, as if they were actually capable of talking back. "Don't lose your head over being such sore losers."

At any time he found himself surrounded, he gave a mock slash of his sword before he jumped clear out of the encircling snakes. He soon landed in a skid against the shore where the water was. He readied his glowing sword with one hand and with the other one outstretched, he gestured with it, beckoning them to come after him.

"Finally, someone shut him up." Naga said to himself as Master Roku verbally disciplined Asura. It was a side of him that Naga wasn't familiar with, but he deemed it necessary given Asura's personality. However, Naga became surprised when Master Roku turned his rage to him. Naga's surprise would turn into an arrogant laugh, especially about being told that the right to judge wasn't his. "Sorry, Master Roku, but the right to judge does belong to me. Let me ask you something....What makes a person....well, a person?" Naga asked, rhetorically. He figured that Master Roku would answer along the lines of personal experience, love, hate, and perception of reality. Either way Naga would answer anyway. "When I say that I am the perfect clone of Nagakoto, the Phoenix from whom the Jiin get their eyes from; the ancestor and pinnacle of the Jiin Clan, I mean just that, in every aspect. Everything that made Nagakoto, his dreams, memories, aspirations, pain, experiences, mannerisms, even his jutsu are all sealed away in my brain; slowly leaking into my sub-consciousness." Naga paused for a moment to look at Asura, "Unlike your student, I don't train to get stronger. I train to gain the memories and experience that have been locked away in my head." Naga paused again, and took a deep sigh in order to calm himself. " Genetically speaking, there is no difference between me and Nagakoto. Absolutely, none. Which means that my Tengan is the same as the Original Tengan....No....my Tengan IS the Original Tengan, that yours and Asura's are derived from. For you to tell me that I, the one who blessed the Jiin Clan with their fire talent and Doujutsu, have no right to judge?" Naga once again had to calm down, having to explain things like this was tiresome, "Master Roku, you are a respected member in our clan, and you are appreciated, but you are right about one thing....you aren't my master. You and I represent to different sides of the Jiin. There is a reason as to why I don't have a master and I am left to do my own." Naga noticed the physical fear that he could see in Asura. "Be easy, Asura. You are related to creatures far more menacing than Master Roku....One day, when I am strong enough, I want you to come meet my father...both of you." Naga stated before physically walking away from the conversation.

It wasn't long after that that the group of Jiin would finally arrive at their destination. "Finally, I don't think that I could take another moment on this damn boat." Naga thought to himself. Naga and Kenji both rose to their feet, and yawned almost in unison. "Are you ready to prove yourself, Kenji?" Naga asked, rhetorically. Kenji was possibly the most eager one on the trip. Naga smiled as he then proceeded to where the captain was briefing the crew. Not long after they were briefed, Asura, in his eagerness, jumped ahead of everyone and onto land. Naga watched and shook his head. "So apparently, this island is infested with snakes. It shouldn't be to hard to get rid of them, the only thing that they have over us is numbers, but there should be no reason to waste any chakra hear." Naga told Kenji, whom bellowed in agreement. In his excitement it appeared that Asura rushed ahead into battle, Naga watched silently and shook his head. "How typical, all that talk about tact and spying, and he makes a scene light this...." Naga adjusted his mask and unsheathed his sword. "Well, you lead the way, Kenji; you have the weight difference on your side. I'll follow up from behind." Naga stated calmly as he gazed the snakes on land. Kenji bellowed loudly in excitement rivalling that of Asura's before charging off the boat and towards the snakes below. Given his weight and sharp horns it was quite easy for the bull to trample and gore a few of the weaker silver snakes. Naga calmly walked off the boat with his sword in hand. It was good to finally have Kenji "Play" for once in his life. "Well, he certainly seems rambunctious." Naga thought to himself. His thoughts, however, would pause once a large shadow casted over him. He stopped walking to face whatever was following him. In front of him was an enormous gold snake. However, that was the only think that the snake had going for it, its gigantic size. The snake hissed at Naga, and prepared to attack. Naga wasn't worried however. The snake was weak enough so that he wouldn't have to waste any chakra to defeat it. All he needed was his sword and staff. With his sword in his right hand and his staff in his left, Naga motioned the snake to charge. The Snake wasted no time and charged Naga.

Although it was fast, it wasn't faster than Naga. Once the snake was close enough to him, Naga vanished from the snake's field of view, not using a jutsu, but his bodies natural speed. The Golden Snake was so focused on its charge that it didn't even notice that Naga was not longer were it thought he was. Suddenly a gash of blood shot up from the right side of the Golden Snake. The snake crashed into the ground and began to squirm in pain, Naga stood atop its head as he did so, he sword dripping with the snakes blood. "Its a shame that your brain isn't equal to your size. Even Kenji could have seen that attack coming. However, He has been with me his whole life, so maybe that isn't fair to you." Naga stated as he picked up his sword and effortlessly decapitated the golden snake, putting it out of its misery and pain. It was at this time that Naga caught a glance at Asura and Kenji, whom seemed to be running back towards him. "What is going on with him." Naga thought. Once again his thoughts would be interrupted, this time by a faint chakra coming from within the dead snake. "Hmmmm...." once again using his body's natural speed Naga jumped off of the snake just as a snake-human hybrid appeared out of it. Wasting no time at all, Naga threw his sword at the hybrid's head, killing it for good this time. Naga landed just a few feet from where he was originally. "Interesting..." Naga stated as he recovered his sword. "Most likely this creature was trying to get used to its new body, but I didn't give it the chance." Naga then jumped off the snake and rushed to help Kenji, whom was being chased by two silver snake hybrids, just like the golden one that he just killed. They were only half as strong though, which meant that they stood no chance against Naga. With a fluid motion Naga cut one of the hybrids diagonally across the chest and impaled the other with his staff. "Kenji, you can't be afraid of unexpected events. You are a bull of Iwa and you need to act like it." Naga stated in a disciplinary tone. Kenji bellowed lowly, before turning around and standing with Naga. "Now, I suppose we should go help that fool, Asura." he stated as the two of them rushed towards were Asura was fighting. As Naga and Kenji raced towards Asura another silver snake hybrid lounged towards them, Kenji to be specific. The bull wasn't afraid anymore, and didn't stop his momentum. Kenji saw what was about to happen and acted accordingly, by lowering his head and aiming his horns at the hybrid. When the moment presented itself Kenji quickly and painfully sent his horns through the body of the hybrid, impaling and killing it instantly. Kenji shook his head in order to flight the corpse off his horns. Naga smirked at the sight, "Good, Kenji. Very good." [1355 words | 6599 total words]

The assault of the snakes continued in wild mass as Asura readied his sword and beckoned them to come his way. As the snakes neared his location, he answered with a swift slash of his blade, severing the arm of the first and spinning to cut into his chest. The second he delivered a swift kick to his jaw before he flipped back and jumped up high into the air again. He felt playful as his movements mocked and took advantage of the snakes before him. The only reason he had charged was because he knew that the snakes already noticed their presence. Tact would come if they required more information when the time came, but for now. they could only fight those monsters.

As he landed back on the beach, he soon heard the sound of a loud , beastly grunt and battle of another person. He turned for a moment to see Naga on the shore now about ten or fifteen minutes later. He was now working on his own share of the snakes as well. Naga was using a staff and sword as he greeted each snake that tried to take a bite at him. More impressive was the giant bull that he had been dragging along with them. He thought such a strange bovine beast would be useless in a fight. Well he was wrong here. Asura looked in genuine shock to see the giant bull BORE through the weaker snakes. He was like something out one of those manadore pits, full of fury and anger as he skewered enemies on his large horns and trampled them below his hooves.

Asura felt a sudden pause fall over him as he saw the big bull kick serious snake ass. "Huh... well what do you know? Bessy knows how to fight," Asura commented scratching the back of his head.

Of course it left a minor opening as a snake snuck up behind to try and take a bite out of him. However, he saw it at the last moment. With his blade he parried the first strike of its claw, then he spun and sliced into its neck, beheading the serpent. It was a gold one this time as he saw the head go away as he looked around, noticing now they were starting to do a certain dent on their numbers now that he had the support of the blundering beast and Kenji .

Finally getting within range of the two, Asura greeted them in his own unique way. "Hey! What took you so long, slowpoke?" Asura greeted them to the fight as he slew another one down the middle, the gash not clean but effective as his chakra blade severed through the body.

It was a smart strategy. He only used a little bit of chakra and enough that he could recover as well once they had handled things here. Using a chakra blade, he had channeled and made his blade stronger. He didn't even have to pay more chakra into it to keep its power sharpened as it was now. ANd it was only at half strength. It alone was one of his most reliable weapons and one of the first lessons Master Roku taught him. Proper and accurate chakra control. Hopefully he would be less mad after they accomplished the mission after the result of what they had to go through. For now, he focused on trying to help out the insufferable Naga.

Asura twirled the blade in his hand, flicking the blood off of it as he readed for the next assault against a silver snake. "Wish we could just get around these guys. Fighting grunts is never something I enjoy when they are so stupid." he commented as he guarded from another claw attack. After that, he merely twirled the blade and jabbed it in the neck with the hilt of his blade.

As he had finished and slew yet another serpent, Asura looked up at the barrier that prevented them from getting into the island. And it was then that he noticed something. With each enemy they slew, the patterns on the barrier shifted and changed! The grand big symbol in the center that were rune like numbers on it, grew smaller and smaller after each enemy was defeated. It was in intervals of five and two.

"Naga, you see that?" Asura called out to his fellow clan's mate. He raised his sword to the barrier briefly. "The runes on the barrier, they are changing each time we strike down an enemy." He soon dodged, spun and stabbed another one in the back with his sword, and immediately noticed another thing. The number on its shoulder vanished, and so did the barrier equivalent on it. Asura hated math but it seemed to be the key to getting past the barrier.

"It's counting down with each enemy we defeat. We probably have to take down enough to defeat the number count on it. " he stated. Naga may or may not of figured it out but it was what they needed. If they wanted to get through the barrier, they had to reduce the number for a score of 100, according to the runes.

"Wanna see who can take down the most?" he egged Naga on, a playful challenge to see who could kill the most and get the most numbers off the barrier.

But there was a factor that Asura didn't know about. What if they got over the required amount. What would happen if the number was not a solid 100 and over the requirement. It could mean nothing or the barrier wouldn't even break. There was a risk to randomly killing enemies without thought or precision of the consequence of what was needed.

Asura, being such a passionate and fiery warrior was already in the heat of battle. But there was much more at state if he lost himself in the fight. They couldn't risk losing sight of their grand goal. TO complete the mission and prevent time from flowing out of kilter with the rest of reality!

(1021 words. Numbers: 2 Gold snakes: 10 points. 3 Silver Snakes: 6 points. = Grand Total from last post: 37 points. )

(Actions: All Melee dmg to enemies)

(OOC: We should aim to get an exact 100 on the score. Any more I suspect would cause issues)

It wasn't look before Naga and Kenji had joined up with Asura. Between the two of them, they had manage to conserve their chakra. "Sorry we aren't as brash as you are, Asura, but I prefer to have some sort of tact before I act. That's what took us so long." Naga said, as he twirled his staff around his fingers to ward off a few of the snake-human hybrids that were starting to surround the small group. "Fighting grunts aren't really a problem. If I felt like expensing my chakra it would be easier to tear through these abominations...." As he spoke one of the snake hybrids lounged at him. Using the momentum of his still twirling staff, Naga struck the creature with enough force to cause it to bend forward and leave the back of its neck exposed. Quickly using his katana, Naga sent his sword through the neck of his opponent then swiping right, almost decapitating it. With that done, he looked over to were Asura had pointed at earlier. The number on the barrier had decreased by two, given that he had just killed one of the silver snake hybrids. "So, I'm guessing the numbers on their increase the number on the barrier once they are defeated..." Naga thought to himself. "looks like you were right. The more of these things that we defeat the lower that number gets." Naga confirmed to Asura. Naga was trying to focus on the approaching snake hybrids, whom were still closing in on them, despite Naga's display of skill just moments before. However when Asura mentioned that the two should have a friendly competition of who could kill the most opponents his focus became distracted. "Why must everything be a competition with you? *sigh* fine, I don't care. I accept your challenge." Naga stated in a slightly annoyed tone.

Naga looked around and tried to find one of the Golden Snakes again, as they were considered worth the most. "There, found one...." Naga thought to himself as he took notice of a Golden Snake Hybrid in the back of multiple silver snake hybrids. Naga would use this time in an attempt to get the upper hand over Asura in their little competition. Still twirling his staff, Naga flung it towards the direction of the golden snake hybrid. The twirling staff kept its momentum as it mowed down the silver snakes standing in his path, Naga followed closely behind his travelling staff, before it stopped, with one end sticking up towards the sky, right in front of the golden snake. "That was a better throw that I thought. Good, this won't take long then." he thought to himself. Naga charged his target, gripping both hands on his Katana. Naga attempted to horizontally swipe at the golden snake's head, however, it was able to dodge at fatal attack at the last moment. Before it could get on the offensive, Naga spun and sent the heel of his left foot into its stomach, creating some distance between the two of them. Continuing his aggressive assault Naga once again charged his opponent, before giving it time to recover from the heavy kick. Thinking that Naga was going to do the same horizontal swipe, the golden snake swiped at the direction it assumed Naga was going, Naga wasn't as predictable it assumed. Once he was within striking distance of the snake Naga ducked down so that the snakes abdomen was exposed. Naga quickly sent his blade through the belly of golden snake and jumped towards the sky. In one motion the golden snake was split in two. "Okay, only slightly harder than the first golden snake I fought, but still not good enough I'm afraid." Naga stated as he looked at the corpse the golden snake. He looked back to were his staff was still sticking out of the ground and noticed that in his time that he fought the golden snake, silver snakes had managed to surround him. After taking notice that he was surrounded, Naga could here a loud bellow, one that no doubly belong to Kenji. From the crowd of silver snakes Naga could see Kenji create a path towards his staff. "So you want to get in on this silly competition too, eh? Well don't let me stop you." Naga said with a smirk as he ran back towards where his staff was located. Before he could pick it up however, a silver snake managed to get to it and pick it up from the ground. Naga chuckled immediately after seeing this. "Well, I admire you effort. Little good its going to do you." he stated before charging the silver snake.

The Silver snake held the staff so that one end of it was facing Naga. From the look of the stance the snake made, Naga could tell that this was going to be over fairly quick. Just has he was closing the distance between him and the snake hybrid his silver opponent attempted to jab him in the chest with the staff. Naga effortlessly jumped slightly above the staff and gripped it the opposite end with his free hand. Still using his momentum Naga delivered a swift kick to the silver snake's head, effectively taking his staff back. Now that his staff was back in his possession he charged once again and struck the silver snake hybrid with enough force to cause the end of the staff to pierce through the chest of his opponent. "Look at that, one gold and one silver snake dead just like that." Kenji would ran up to Naga and bellowed to get his attention. Naga looked at over to see was making him act so erratic. Naga could see yet another golden snake approach them. Naga looked around them and chuckled. "Kenji, you handle the golden one. I'll make sure none of these weaker fools distract you." Naga said in a reassuring manner. Kenji stomped the ground patiently, kicking up dirt and dust as he did so. With speed worth of a fighting bull Kenji charged towards his opponent, leaving nothing but a cloud of dust where he once stood.

Maybe the golden snake did not expect Kenji to be quick as fast as his size and weight indicated, because it hesitated to attack the raging bull. In its hesitation it allowed Kenji to get up-close and personal. It was only then that the golden snake took a swipe at the bull, whom lowered his head and just like before, prepared and aimed his arms at this golden creature. In a flash Kenji sent one of his horns through the arm of the attacking snake and using the strength of his neck managed to lift the snake up and slam it into the ground with a loud and hard smack. Naga stood back and watch. Through his mask he smirked. "He is getting stronger and gaining confidence...still I do not know if I want him to fight our main enemy, this Orochimaru may be too much for Kenji to handle at this moment. I wonder why he hasn't summoned his tiger yet? He felt the need to show it off on the boat, but not now?" Naga thought to himself, referring to Asura. He shrugged his shoulders and ran over to assist Kenji if need be. Naga showed up just in time to see Kenji repeatedly head butting the defeated golden snake, each hit was more bone cracking than the last. "I think you got him, Kenji. You are just having fun at this point." Naga stated with a smirk. He looked down at the golden snake as Kenji walked away and kicked dirt on it. Naga twirled his sword around before sending the blade through the neck of the corpse, making sure it was dead. "Good Job, Kenji..." Naga refocused his attention on the silver ones that were around him now. Funny thing is that they no longer charged nor closed in on him. Naga figured that they must have realized what they were up against. "It seems that they are smarter than I thought, Kenji." Naga stated with a chuckle. "However, it doesn't matter. They will have to die so that we can progress through this island and stop whatever is happening." Kenji bellowed in agreed as he too began to eye their remaining opponents. There were still quit of bit of them left, so they still had numbers on their side. However, given the current skill of Naga and company those numbers were doing them little good. Naga once again began to twirl his staff around and slowly approach the remaining snakes. Kenji did the same by kicking up dirt and dust once again. "I have to admit that this is a little harder to do without using chakra, but it is also more fun this way." Naga said with another chuckle. "No doubt that fool Asura will use some sort of jutsu in order to catch up to me...." Naga thought to himself. [1522 words | 8121 total words]

The cry of one of the gold serpenets echoed as Asura slashed through its ribcage. The glowing chakra blade sliced through his enemies like a hot knife through butter. It fell with a gargle and dropped to the sand below. The beach was already covered with a fine amount of blood from all the enemies they had defeated so far. This was not Asura's idea of fun at the beach. First time he got to be at one and no swimming, no hot girls in bikinis, nothing. Being stuck in Iwa for so long he thirsted for chances to explore the outside world. But if anything this very mission got him to see that place. The Moon island alone was indeed a wondrous location-- save for the fate of the world that hung in the balance.

Kenji and Naga both had joined the fight and Asura was glad for the company. And he felt happy that despite their quips, Asura's words were true. The enemies corresponded with the stability of the barrier that blocked them from entering into the further parts of the island. Naga actually admitted he was right. After slicing another weak snake near him, he covered Naga's back. "Oho?" he said, a hint of jest in his voice. "YOu actually admit I am right? Can I quote you on that?" he teased.

And it seemed it did turn into a competition of who could rack up the most points on the barrier for them to get down. Though for Asura's trouble-- he saw how Naga was skilled with the staff and sword as he used them in great swiftness and slew several in one pass. It was impressive. Then there was the fact he had the giant bull at his side helping him. The fact was two heads were better than one so it resorted to that kind of deal. Asura might of bit off more than he chewed asking for a competition between Naga and himself.

Gritting his teeth, he chose to move on. "Alright, Asura. You started this. Let's leave them in the dust," he said to himself and charged back into the thick of battle.

Holding his sword in a reverse style, with the hilt towards his thumb and the blade coming out from the other end of his hand-- he charged for his enemies. It was part of his style by swapping how you held the short sword, increased the means of how the cutting edge of the blade struck an enemy. His speed was very well higher than Naga's as his charge and ran by several silver and a few gold serpents that gunned for him. The moment he passed b y them, he would slash his blade. Each pass would warrant a strike from his blade as he slew through them in swift succession. The snakes couldn't even grab hold of him as he rushed by him, like a wind that was passing by. However, he was leaving a clear slice in each side of them as he ran, and blood trailing behind him.

He then volted high into the air avoiding a dead end of minions. As he was airborne, he flipped and began to descend into the mass of them. In addition to being fast, he was also acrobatic. All that time exploring the mountains and hopping along its peaks and canyons were coming in handy for him. He soon landed on top of a snake, to which he immediately stabbed him in the back of the neck, killing him immediately. However, landing where he did put him in the middle of a nest of the other snakes. With a momentary glance of his enemies around him, he became a blur of speed once more as he went on the attack!

IN the few moments that past, Asura was a whirlwind of motion. He was armed with his blade but used also his body. Unlike Kenji he trained hard to develop his potency in Taijutsu. Though not resorting to the actual techniques just yet, he fought with great strength and speed and his movements and strikes were accurate! In that blur of movement he elbowed one snake into the jaw, a thrust of his momentum to strike and knock him off focus. It was then followed by a swift slash and off he was to the next enemy. It was that rare moment one of the snakes used its tail to try and grab Asura. It snagged his left leg and was about to use it to keep him still and strike. As the snake would of struck. Asura merely ducked under its head lunge.

Sweeping his blade and body back, he sliced through the tail that was binding his leg, causing the beast to shriek in pain and ended-- when Asura brought the blade back up, piercing through its ribcage and slashed away, ending its life. Freed once more, Asura struck again. this time kneeing a creature in the chest, then kicking off and hitting the next one in the circle of snakes, striking it with a blow from his left fist! Asura was mixing up his swordplay with strong Taijutsu strikes, making his moves unpredictable and hard to track. He flipped back after the next attack as another enemy tried to strike him from behind-- and he kicked him squarely in the face, repelling him away even when he was on his hands.

Asura had turned his whole body into a strong weapon as he was a blur of red along the battlefield. Finally breaking the gauntlet of snakes, he jumped out high again, flipping forward in a spin before he left the circle and landed outside on the beach.

The entire beach was now a shade of red and yellow from the destruction caused but the goods news was that they thinned out the numbers of snakes significantly.  It wouldn't be long till they broke through the barrier. He just had to keep it up and would be able to proceed. Plus he could brag to Naga how he got a higher number count.

Meanwhile, watching from the ship, Roku and the other shinobi observed the battle and keeping an active awareness of the condition of the island and situation. Things looked bleak. They had to get through that barrier or further damage to the time line would be caused. Their very future was at stake. But As Asura watched the combat, he knew he had done a good job training Asura. Though brash and impulsive, no one had a stronger fire in their heart than Asura did. He wouldn't let them down.

"Asura, you will surpass Naga. I know that. But don't lose yourself." he said but still he saw him fight, slashing through the enemies and fighting hard. Roku himself felt driven to join the fight himself, but restrained himself from joining. The bloodlust in him was something he worked hard to control. But no, this was Asura's mission and trial. He wouldn't dishonor that moment. "Good luck, Asura."

Asura delivered a strong slash uppercut as he slew another gold snake. It was becoming painfully easy for Asura and almost boring. He worked hard to not use any big jutsu against such small fries. An enemy whose only advantage by their numbers were boring as hell but he kept his focus and kept beating them with physical attacks. He REALLY wanted to end things with a bang. But that would be a bad idea too. Alerting the enemy inside the barrier that there was company outside.

He had just delivered a twin split-kick to two adjacent snakes and now moved forward, dancing and slashing his way through the ranks. As he fought his way closer to Naga's share, he took out one of the snakes that were gunning to make hamburger meat after Kenji the cow . "I still question you choosing an animal as a shinobi companion who can easily be made into hamburger meat if you're not careful" he teased Naga for his choice of an animal.

With a spiraling drop, Asura slashed and drove down on one snake, literally cutting him in half as the blow was strong it fell with gravity. With a gap between him and the snakes from afar, they only now dotted the landscape now. He didn't even realize he had slashed at a gold one-- the tougher ones compared to the silver ones.  Having worked up a sweat now, Asura raised his arm and wiped the moisture from his brow. "Whew... Can't say we aren't getting a work out from these guys. But fighting without using some good jutsu to take them out is a bit boring don't you think?" Asura joked as the other snakes were slowly making their way towards them.

He wouldn't waste his chakra, that much was true. Taijutsu alone was fine for him. He smirked as he shouldered his glowing blade. "Well... at least this makes the journey interesting," he boasted and charged once more.

His last dash left a clear imprint in the sand as he kicked off and charged right at them like a rocket. It was almost as if flames had propelled him but they didn't . He charged and slashed at the last group before him, slaying three more serpents in his path and finishing the latest onslaught in a matter of seconds. After stabbing the last one through the chest and yanking his sword clean out, he hopped and flipped back to where he was talking near Naga. The chakra blade hummed in his hand, as he took a moment to rest.

Looking back at Naga's weapons, he noticed the simple nature of the sword and staff he wielded. It was decently crafted and after spending so much time in the local smithery, he had gotten a better grasp of the art of artisans. He himself was studying in his spare time in crafting ninja weapons and tools of his own. "You know Naga, while I agree it is the warrior that makes the weapon worth wile, a good quality weapon is still valuable." he said, actually trying to be considerate. "If you want, I can help you build a stronger ninja tool. I have been studying artisan methods and been forging new ninja tools myself." he offered.

While he did admit to have a strong and stubborn rivalry with Naga, and despite his cold as ice personality, Asura actually wanted to offer and help his fellow teammate. After all, they both were family in the end.

OOC: wouldn't 500 words undercut the score count, tho. I mean if I did just do 500 words wouldn't that just be 96 at most?

Although Asura's display of skill was impressive, it wasn't anything for him to be in shock and awe about. "Well, as long as we are done here. I really don't care what happens. I just wanted him to shut up and focus on the battle." Naga chuckled. Asura had done a good job of thinning out the bulk of the horde of snake. There were now only a few stragglers and the number on the rune was reading "91". "Great, just a few more should do it for us. Kenji, create an opening for me." Kenji bellowed loudly and charged one of the few remaining silver snakes. Using his horns as a lift, Kenji was about to catapult the silver snake high into the sky, creating the opening that Naga asked for. "Naga aimed his sword and threw it as hard as he could, aimed at the forehead of the silver snake. (Dosshu!!!) The sound of steel cutting through bone sang through the air. "Well there's one silver one down." Naga said to himself as he looked over counted the remaining two snakes. "One Gold and One Silver....This shouldn't take long and since Asura's need for competition has been satisfied we can continue on after this." Kenji walked up next to Naga and began to kick up dirt and dust once again. "Okay Kenji. You go after the silver one and I will go after the gold one. After this we should be done...." Kenji bellowed loudly in agreement and began to charge the silver snake hybrid, while Naga charged the gold one.

(Don!!!!) The impact Naga's staff made when it hit the snakes head was loud, even louder than Naga had estimated. The golden snaked seemed to be stunned from the attack, leaving him open for yet another attack. Naga wasted no time continuing on his onslaught. He brought his staff back and quickly jabbed it into the belly of his opponent. Without skipping a beat he retracted his staff and struck the golden snake again, lifting the snake up into the sky. "It really is just going to let me destroy it like this, huh?" Naga asked himself in amusement. "Well, since it isn't putting up a fight anymore...." In a flash of grey Naga flicked from his original position and reappeared behind the snake as it was still gaining momentum into the sky. Naga spun his staff through his fingers once more before striking the snake again with deadly force (Don!!!!). Once again the sound of the staff striking the snake's head was loud. The force of the blow would send the snake crashing into the ground. Naga landed beside the no longer moving gold snake. "I almost feel bad for the thing...almost." Naga walked over to the snake that was unfortunate to catch his blade in the forehead. He pulled to blade out and cleaned the blade, sheathing it once he was done. He stowed his staff as well. It was around this point that he heard Asura mention Kenji being a 'Hamburger' or something along those lines. "If anyone managed to defeat him and turn him into food, then they deserve it. Kenji may not be at his full potential now, but it that is hardly your concern." He stated in a dismissive tone. "It's not like I'm worried about your tigers being poached, am I?" Naga added onto his last comment. However, it a change of pace Asura showed authentic concern for his ninja tools. Naga looked over his staff and katana. Though, they were useful at getting the job done, truth was that they weren't anything special. "No thanks, but they are just tools to me. All that matters is if they get the job done or not. If this Katana or staff of mine were to break or wear I'd probably just buy a new one." Naga stated in a matter of fact kind of way. Now his attention was moving to Kenji as he fought his opponent. He watched as his pet seemed to draw out the fight a little longer than what it had to be. Naga knew that Kenji was just toying with his opponent right now, but he didn't want to stop him from having his fun. "Already growing arrogant, eh Kenji?" Naga thought to himself. "Well as long as he finishes up soon...." Naga sat down on the ground and laid down on his back, waiting for Kenji to finish with his opponent.

The Silver snake has suffered quite a few punctures from Kenji's horns. It was surprising that it had not passed out from the blood lost. The bull managed to back to snake into the base of a large boulder. Kenji began to kick up dust and dirt, a soft, but determined bellow escaped his mouth. With a flash, almost faster than the snake could see or react to, Kenji head butted the snake in the abdominal area. The force of which caused a crack in the large boulder. The silver snake, having finally being defeated, fell the to the ground. The rune on the barrier would reach zero and deactivate now. Naga, whom had managed to catch a quick nap, looked over at Kenji as he walked over to join the two Jiin. "Are you finished? Did you have you fulfillment of fun?: Naga said with a yawn. Kenji bellowed and Naga rose to his feet to stretch. "That should be all of them then. Lets get this going now." Naga said to Asura and Kenji. "I would like for this to be done with as soon as possible. I have some things to take care of as soon as I get back to Iwa." he mentioned out of the blue. Naga walked over to where the rune and barrier once stood. "Everything up to this point has been easy. I have a feeling that things are about to pick up really soon....Best become focused...." he said to himself out loud. [1015 words | 9136 total]

The fight was soon over as Naga performed his own impressive skills against the poor remaining suckers of snakes. But now the last of them were gone. Feeling more content to relax, Asura landed to the ground in a crouch and stood up. Looking around, the last of the snakes were dispatched. With the immediate threat gone, Asura turned to Naga with a cocky grin on his face.

"Looks like I win our little wager, Naga. I killed way more snakes than you did," he said, partly teasing to break the tension of the immediate battle to come once the barrier was dispelled. He flashed Naga a smirk, showing he was confident in the trials ahead.

With the barrier hitting zero, it was only a matter of time before it popped and allowed them into the interior of the island. But for what pause of time they had, it was important for them to recover waht strength they needed.

While Asura had a ... distaste for Naga and his 'better than you' attitude, he extended an offer to him. "Here, take it," Asura said, offering one of the water bottles he had bought back in Suna. It was moments like these that Asura knew taking extra time was important to buy the tools they needed. "Don't argue and take it, will you. It's just water. But it will restore chakra should you need it.)

After that, he took a bottle for himself an drank the water, it cooling his throat and feeling more refreshed. He wanted to make sure his energy was restored before they proeeded forward. As he drank he looked past the barrier and towards the light in the distance. Things were changing, but they had the strength to stop it. He was sure of it!
