“God, I couldn’t be anymore sore” Noboyuki said hunchbacked over as he trotted along the white stone path.
“You should have just behaved in class” Yukimura said as he followed behind his brother.
“Yukimura remember whose older” Noboyuki shouted back.
“By 9 months.” Yukimura whispered under his breath. Noboyuki turned around and got ready to say something till he noticed Yukimura and Mei-Lee holding hands.
“Are you guys…” He stopped both of them in there tracts and bent down to look at their hands. Yukimura turned his face away red blushing. When Noboyuki turned his gaze to Mei-Lee he was instantly struck with fear as she coldly stared down his face.
“You say anything smart, I will end your life.” She muttered with an intent to kill. Noboyuki stood up, turned around and continued walking towards their destination.
The trio arrived at black building with smoke rising from its backside. The smell of steel being burned plagued the air. Birds struggled to harmonize with the hammer beating against the weapons.
“How long must you work here?” Mei-Lee asked. She held her nose with her free hands while trying to simultaneously cover her eyes.
“Until big brother says we don’t need to work for them anymore.” Yukimura said. The two exchanged hugs and Mei-Lee left. Yukimura turned to see his brother staring him down.
“Have you two even kissed yet?” Noboyuki asked.
“I actually hate you.”
“You’re adopted.”
“Dad thinks I’m the favorite.”
“You’re wrong Dad doesn’t have favorites.”
“Yes, he does, and it’s me.”
The bickering went on for about five more minutes till a man in full blacksmith garments came out screaming with a hammer in his hands.
“You boys are 30 minutes late, bring your asses in here before I fire you!!!!” He Yelled. Realistically, He couldn’t fire them, the blacksmith always had to many requests a day to be filled and usually needed most of the help he could get. The Senju boys, as they were called in the village due to the striking resemblance of Hashirama & Tobirama, were the best help anyone could get when it came to work. He was more than luck to have them.
Working within the forge was grueling. It usually from day to day involved, loading the furnace with coal to fuel the flames, loading the flames with the metal ores so that they can be broken down into lava that way they can be bended into weapons. Other times work involved assisting the boss in his endeavors to create custom weapons for shinobis which usually involved more than one try. On a usual day, both Noboyuki and Yukimura together could work 600 Kunai, 1000 shuriken and 10-15 katana’s. It was the first thing that the blacksmith had taught them to do. On other days, when the special requests would come in, they would make anywhere from 12-15 custom weapons. This was not one of those days. The two began their shift by switching into their work clothes and grabbing their materials from off the stands. After which, the two would begin hammering away filling out the day’s quota of Kunai, Shuriken and Katanas.
At the end of their shift they took a quick shower and returned into their normal clothes and walked outside where Mei-Lee had been waiting for them.
“Good God Mei-Lee were you waiting there all day?” Noboyuki teased.
“Good God Noboyuki are you still the ugliest thing to walk the face of the earth?” She retorted. Yukimura fell to the floor in tears as he heard his brother get instantly insulted.
“Geez Noboyuki, it’s almost as if you’re… bad at come backs” Yukimura said standing up. Noboyuki shrugged and turned back towards the white stone path.
“Well than smartass since you’re here. Ichiraku is on you.”
“I have no objection to that” Yukimura replied. Instantly Yukimura prostrated to the ground from the full force of Mei-Lee.
“You shut your mouth.” She said.
Although she talked a big game, Mei-Lee was more than willing to buy the boys dinner. They sat the table and proceeded with their orders.
“Vegetable Ramen Please” Yukimura said 1st
“Pork-Filled Please” Mei-Lee Replied.
“Whatever you feel like old Lady” Noboyuki replied. Again Yukimura and Mei-Lee shot Noboyuki a look.
“Sorry Miss Ayame” Yukimura said apologizing for his older brother. Ayame smile as she waved it off.
“It’s not a problem my dear. Coming right up.” After heart filled laughter and spirited joy, the trio enjoyed their meals and went to their respective homes.
