Uzume's mother had a one off fling with an Uchiha while she was visiting konoha and didn't know that she was pregnant when she returned to her homeland. When Uzume was born her mother didn't exactly know weather or not to tell the Uchiha about her, it took almost four years for her to come to a decision on that. She eventually decided that they would probably want to know there was a little girl with their clans blood in her out in another country. When she did send word, the clan went to collect her and bring her back to the leaf, so she spent the rest of her years growing up with the clan from there and only visiting her mother a couple of times per year, not that she really understood why that was, just that she was supposedly living with her father now. Either way she aspired to be a ninja, although that want was mostly inspired by what she was surrounded with living with the Uchiha.
