Reo stood in his training room. The dummy had been put back in place, though some clones still trained on it with their wooden training staff(s).The greatest part of clones was the trick Fuu had discovered. They could give you knowledge about yourself that you aren’t even realizing. Most recently, he realized just how obsessed he was becoming with the Ryu Caller as that was all his clones would talk about.

That begged the question of whether he wanted the power of the scroll to himself or if he wanted to protect the world from it. He felt that he wanted to protect the world, but more and more he was thinking that using the scroll himself would be the correct answer. That way no one else could. He reasoned it that way, but part of him was thinking that maybe he desired power and didn’t realize it.

The real Reo held a scroll in his hand. In it was contained a terrible Jutsu. His clan had managed to get a hold of a copy so that they could study and counter it should they ever run into an enemy who utilized it. The jutsu in question was the Death Possession Blood jutsu. It was...grotesque but it’s effects were extremely powerful. Reo couldn’t help but contemplate ways to alter the jutsu and make it less...horrible. He would have to dissect it and figure out how it managed to transfer damage from one person to another and maybe he could make use ….

rolling like a boss for Reo

A clone was stabbed in the neck. Reo couldn’t see it. In fact, he had no idea where that clone had been before it died and before he memories flooded his mind. But, he knew now. The clone had gotten bored and decided to wonder the desert. It didn’t go too far before the clone realized how unlucky - or perhaps how lucky - it was. The memories were flooding Reo and he could almost see it all happening. A ninja challenged Reo’s clone to a fight and if he didn’t accept then he’d kill a genin girl that he had with him. That made no sense, but Reo recognized the girl. She was a new genin along with him. Eliza Saniou, of the Saniou clan. The same clan as the Kazekage. Not knowing what else to do, the clone accepted the fight.

It had lost.

Reo quickly dismissed all of his clones - and felt the knowledge of a hundred and twenty four Reo’s flood his senses. Ignoring that for the time being, Reo made the hand signs for the jutsu once more. “Kage Bunshin No Jutsu!”

This time, Reo only summoned one clone. It shared a mind with him, so he didn’t need to give it orders. It knew perfectly well what to do. Reo watched as the clone took off. It would scout the area surrounding where the fight had happened in case the two had moved. In the meantime, Reo was going to head towards the battleground itself.

The enemy was unknown but be had to realize that The one he defeated was nothing more than a Shadow Clone. Normal people didn’t poof into smoke whenever you killed them.

If he really wanted a fight, then he would stay there and wait for Reo. Reo just had to hope he wanted a fight as badly as it seemed. Still, none of this made sense. Why target the Saniou girl? Why target Reo? Reo didn’t think he could figure the answer to those questions out until he figured out who the masked enemy was in the first place.

Until then, he needed to be of one mind.

Reo arrived at the area where his clone had been destroyed. The man still stood there with a knife to the Saniou clan girl’s neck.

“Ah, I knew you’d show up. The clone didn’t have what I needed.” The man said brandishing the knife towards Reo. “Is this the real you this time?”

Reo Bowed his head slightly. “It is. What do you wish of me.” As he did this, he made he had sign to release his clone. He would need all his power to fight this man if his memories of the clone fight were any indication.

The man cocked his head.

“You have to know” the man said, his face cocked sideways with downturned eyebrows. “Okay okay. So you don’t know? Well, shit. Here’s the deal. I’m after the Ryu Caller. I didn’t track down an ancient temple only to find out you had it and have been asking around about it to let you go. I’m going to take it from you and then I’ll be on my way.”

The man had a wrinkly face with a white goatee. His balding head sported white hair on the outside of it. He was clearly not a sand genin. Or a genin from any other village, yet he could defeat Reo’s clone with relative ease.

“Who are you?” Reo said sharply, dropping all honorifics. It was a purposeful decision.

“Just an old bandit searching for power, boy. Nothing more needs to be said about me.” The old man said as he tossed the Saniou girl off to the side. “Run along girl. I don’t need you anymore. Gojisou Reo, where is the scroll?”

Reo watched as the Saniou girl ran and crouched behind a rock - though she didn’t run away completely. Why not?

“It’s out of your reach.” Reo said with a smile as he adopted a fighting style that he knew few could match. Taijutsu was his specialty and his clones were nowhere near as strong as he was. Let him come.
