Blind Spot Equals Zero

“If it’s not a highway robbery then what is it?” Reo asked as he finally came face to face with the large man. He stood head and shoulders over Reo and his body was built like a well toned body builder’s. All in all, he was a much more intimidating sight than Reo was.
 
“You have something that our boss wants, little one.” The man said with a hearty laugh. Reo’s face contorted into a confused look – eyebrows frowned and downturned mouth. That is, until he figured out what the man meant.
 
The Ryu Caller. What else could he have that someone wanted.
 
“Kill them all!” The man shouted as he threw a hatchet at Reo. It collided with him, only for a log to appear.

Reo made his way to a treetop nearby. It was a dangerous move, but he needed more intelligence and they would hardly notice a missing Reo in the mass that was below. From here, Reo could see the large one that was -evidently – the leader was aware of what Reo had done. He looked up towards Reo, but shrugged his shoulders as he turned towards a clone and smashed his fist through the clone’s face.
 
It went away with a puff of smoke and Reo suddenly remembered the pain of that man’s fist. It was heavy. Evidently, the man had not seen Reo in the trees due to the foliage he was hiding behind.

The battle between the bandits and the clones raged. From this vantage point, he could get a good view of the clones and the bandits. The clones had about twenty of them left, but they were facing far more than that. The bandits easily numbered around 65 or 70 remaining. To his surprise, Reo could see a large number of them laying on the ground – unconscious from the battle with the clones.
 
The largest issue facing Reo’s mini-army was the large bandit. None of the clones seemed able to touch him. In fact, they began to leave a large swathe of land around him clear.
 
That one would have to be Reo to fight, as he was stronger than his normal clones. Yet, going down was dangerous when Reo could just send clone after clone down there.
 
Another one died. This one was an arrow- again.

Reo’s mind filled with the memories of the dead clone. The arrow…he had seen it fly at him this time. Just barely, but not with enough time to react to the blow. It was all Reo needed. Reo ignored the sixty five or so bandits below him and began to leap from tree to tree, trusting that his nineteen clones would deal with those bandits without much issue.
 
Well, long enough for him to get back. In the worst case, he would just make more. Reo’s mind began to wander as he ran towards the source of the bow and arrow, but then another clone died.

For a moment, Reo had to reorient himself. That clone had also died by an arrow. It took him a second to pinpoint where that clone was and where the arrow had fired from. Apparently the archer had shifted positions slightly, so Reo switched his route to move slightly more northeast. As he did this, the large bandit felled another clone.  What was that? Seventeen left?
 
Reo couldn’t help but think that he could easily run away while his clones distracted this horde. After-all, none of them knew where his real body was. But, he couldn’t leave until he figured out why an entire band of bandits were after him. Well, he had some ideas, but he didn’t know how true they were. Besides, he wanted to know who hired them.

There was one person before that had come after him for the scroll – and he had been powerful, but Reo had managed to win. In fact, Reo had won without too much hassle even though he had taken a hostage…. okay, there was a bit of a hassle until said hostage smacked him over the head.
 
Still, he never revealed who had hired him to come after the Ryu Caller. This was his first real shot at finding out. Reo arrived to see a long blonde haired man wearing all green fire an arrow. That arrow flew forward and pierced one of his clone’s heads.

Reo lashed out. He leapt forward, pulling his foot overhead and slamming it downwards. It smashed the man’s bow but, somehow, he had avoided the brunt of the attack.
 
This man was agile.
 
“Oh? I’m impressed you found me. My chakra can’t be sensed, ya know? You must be the real Reo Gojisou then? I’m afraid that I’m here to kill you and take that scroll off your back.” The man stretched. “name’s Amos Leroux. Nice to meet you.”

Elsewhere in the large battle, a Reo clone stood facing the massive behemoth of a bandit. It towered over Reo-clone. The axe smashed downwards.

“Amos Leroux.” Reo said bowing slightly. This man was trying to kill him, but he deserved respect as all combatants did. There was no reason for Reo to be disrespectful. “Before I destroy you, can you tell me who hired you?”
 
“Who hired me? Fraid not. See, only the big boss knows that. Me? I’m just a sniper. Though, now that I know that you’re the real one…well, let’s just say that I can make a bit more money if I bring the Ryu Caller to the big boss. “ Amos pulled a dagger out of his side. It was a dagger – not a kunai. Strange.
 
Reo could feel another clone die. They were slowly dwindling to nothing.

Thirteen clones. That’s all that Reo had left. The clones still existing didn’t seem to know the layout of the entire battle – or at least the ones that had died so far didn’t. That was troublesome for Reo and meant he needed to finish this archer off fast.
 
“Then let’s get on with this” Reo said with a shake of his head. This would be difficult with the way he moved before. As Reo watched, he saw the person vibrate before vanishing and reappearing a step from Reo. Reo reacted instinctively with Kawarimi.
 
The dagger pierced through a log as Reo jumped upwards and landed on a branch above.

Reo jumped downward as he gathered chakra around himself. The chakra swiftly changed to wind chakra and began to slice leaves as he fell. In midair, Reo turned and pointed his fist at the archer. The archer – to his credit – held his dagger upwards to block the blow. His body had stopped vibrating, so whatever strange jutsu he had used was over now. The dagger was knocked out of the way by the strength of Reo’s blow. Then, the fist and wind chakra drove directly into the man’s stomach.
 
The wind ripped at the archer as the force of the blow tossed him to the ground in a rush. Reo reached out as he cancelled his chakra and caught a branch, barely hanging on. In the back of his mind, another clone died. He only had thirteen clones left and there were likely a large number of bandits left.

Reo dropped to the ground with a thud and a cloud of dust. He placed his hands on the neck of the archer he had knocked to the ground. He could feel a faint pulse – which meant he was still alive. Reo began to dash towards the main group. Only their leader knew, huh? Well, it was time to take the fight to their leader.
 
The only problem is that Reo ran directly into a wall of bandits. Reo threw a punch at one’s back, causing him to crumple onto the ground from the force of the blow. As he prepared to perform a leg sweep, Reo was pushed out of the way of an incoming spear by one of his clones.
 
It dissipated into smoke.
