The Wind and the Rain [S][T]

Kori walked along the streets of Kiri, her snow white hair cut short so that it wouldn’t bother her. She didn’t understand why so many people wore their hair in a way that it would get in the way of their combat. She was a normal twelve year old academy student, but she thought that she could become something special.

One day, at least.

Until then, she was your average unpopular kid. Well, unpopular may be a little harsh considering that she has a few friends. They hung out in a little clique – the three of them. Today, Kori wore all black – as usual. She thought it provided a good contrast to her white hair. She had black leggings that went to the middle of her thighs, black boots, a pair of short black shorts, and a black coat. She currently had the hood down – as usual. This was about her normal way of dressing, so there wasn’t much out of the ordinary today.

Well, the only difference was what Kori was doing as she walked. She was focusing on the chakra in her hand and trying to channel it into wind. Hyouton – or ice – was her clan’s specialty and she knew she could master it. First, she needed to learn wind and water, though.

Kori sighed and absentmindedly threw a wooden kunai at a wooden fence as she walked by it.

Kori continued focusing on her chakra as she walked. The Chuunin Exams had been so exciting. That Junpaku girl…she was openly from the same clan as Kori and yet she could perform such marvelous jutsu!

Everyone always told her that if she practiced wind and water enough, she would be able to mix them. So, she continued channeling Fuuton Chakra and threw another wooden kunai – this time at a pole.

Kori stopped walking as she tossed another wooden kunai at a pole. She always left for the Academy early – because she always ended up doing this. See, she got distracted and she was having a particularly difficult time with the Fuuton chakra in her hands at the moment. It kept turning back to regular chakra.

Kori, of course, thought that perhaps she wasn’t focusing hard enough. So, she sat down and stared intently at her hands – feeling the weight of the training weights weighing them down – as she practiced her Fuuton energy.

This had to be easier than it was seeming, right? Everyone else in her clan seemed able to do this already. Why not her?

Kori, for her part, decided that she must not be working hard enough. She continued to channel Fuuton in one hand as she whipped out a wooden Shuriken and threw it against a tree. It caught and sunk in with the force of the blow.

Amazingly, she managed to maintain the Fuuton chakra while she did so. She had never managed to do that properly before. Maybe she was getting better with her Fuuton control.
