Shan looked down and kicked a rock – hard. Unconsciously, Shan had channeled chakra into his foot. When he kicked the rock, the force sent it flying. Sadly, his foot was connected to it and it went flying with it. Scowling, Shan pushed himself into a standing position and dusted himself off. There had to be a trick to this…or was doing it with all the clones really that much more difficult?

Or was it what he was afraid to admit? That he really didn’t have good chakra control. He needed this training. Shan shivered as that thought popped into his head. No, not that. Definitely not that.

Shan snarled and resolutely stood up. He marched to the tree – chakra filling his hands, feet, every inch of his body as he stared it down.

And his pocket caught on fire. Shan gulped and grabbed the flaming piece of paper in his pocket. It was a chakra paper and evidently Shandian Hiraishin had unlocked the ability to use Katon. Interesting as that was, he had more pressing matters. Shan walked forward and began to walk up the tree when – to his dismay – he noticed that every single one of his clones was currently trying to light their tree on fire. Now, Shan knew that the clones had their physical abilities lower than his own but…were they less intelligent as well?

Shan began to yell at the hundred clones. “Stop that! We can worry about learning fire later!”.

Some listened. Others continued on their merry way trying to learn how to burn a forest down – though fire wasn’t the most effective in this mist. Shan shook his head and focused his chakra solely on his feet. He began to walk up the tree. This attempt went far better than the last one. He managed to make it seven steps before falling and flipping back down to the ground below. He glanced at the Genin to his right. They had gone eight steps.

Shan groaned as he walked forwards. This shouldn’t be a physically demanding task but he needed to work hard for it since his abilities were split amongst so many. He looked over at his clones. They were still making fire, except the few that hadn’t been were now as well.

“Hey! Quit it!” Shan yelled. About half of them were no longer making fire, but were practicing some way of combining fire and lightning together. What in the world was that if it combined those two elements? Shan would have to dispel his clones to find out once this training was over.

For now, he needed them to focus.

The Shan’s ignored him as they created that strange element of theirs. He wished he understood exactly what they were doing. Out of the corner of Shan’s eye, he noticed one of the Genin wandering over to one of his clones – probably just as curious as the real Shan was. Still, it wasn’t any of his business, so Shan turned back to the tree and focused his chakra to his feet. He began to walk up the tree – moving ever further than before. He really was beginning to get the hang of this method of training – even with his power divided among the clones.
