(Quest Thread:) The Demon of the Naraka Cave-- Discovering the Trickster's Blade (Treasure dice battle)

The slash he delivered only grazed the first one-- a nick in the body, but it didn't do anything. However, the extra force Asura did to the second zombie had more of an effect. The claws' powers were stronger than Asura could of imagined. He never tested their martial power till now. Now, he could see why they were so treasured. The strength of his soul added to their raw damage potential, and now they tore apart the enemy like a hot knife through butter.

... But that didn't matter now...

Asura turned around to face them, and what he saw was disheartening to say the least. His eyes widened as he saw. Not only did he barely graze the first, but the second one-- the one he cleaved in half-- began to regather itself.

The ashened parts of its body seemed to waft in the stale air of the cave, as if by a silent wind-- and reassembled its body.

"Please tell me this is a sick Genjutsu?" Asura gasped, but soon bit his tongue as the zombie turned towards him. "No... the strike i made felt solid and my Tengan showing no signs of changes... this is real."

With wailing shouts, the zombies moved for Asura, their fingers and teeth bared to bite and tear out Asura.

The zombie attacks were weak, but Asura didn't want to risk any kind of damage all the same. He read those stupid stories how a single bite from a zombie would turn you into one. Even if he did sustain a damage, his sacred flames could very well heal him from the damage. Still, he wasn't gonna risk it if the bite was more of an issue of a curse.

He bared his glowing Soul Tiger Claws out and used it to guard against each blow from his enemy. He had to move it to counter each strike. One of the zombies missed, the other two reached to strike. Asura easily moved his claws, blocking it with his own charged claws. The zombies' maws did not even get close, to break his skin. Still, he was unprotected. A single bit of damage would put him at risk if he was right.

For the moment, he kept his eyes scanned on the enemies. They were not strong. Physcially no better than him at least when they were alive-- but the fact they were dead meant their energy was extremely low-- and why a single blow sliced them apart. But something was keeping it alive.

(Blocking all-- consumes all actions) No damage taken.

Despite his actions, the zombies continued to go after him without any kind of reserve for thier own sake. It made sense however, as Asura could tell they were all driven by the need to feed or just find life to feed on. Some other object in this place was keeping alive, but he couldn't detect it. His eyes could only see heat-sources, and see through objects. It wasn't like he could detect the source of chakra that was animated them. And he couldn't see chakra strings that manipulated them, so it was clearly not a puppetry jutsu of some kind. Another jutsu he personally hated.

The zombies continued to go after him, and forced Asura to keep moving back around the cavern to avoid them.

"Could I try to burn them up... My Taiyourasengan could do it..." Asura voiced to himself softly as he moved around , his eyes quickly keeping track on all four of their motions. "... no. The cavern is too enclosed. Even with my Kekkei Gekai, I won't be able to evade the blast myself. I'll get hit too."

The zombies might of been invincible alone, but they were sloppy. Two of them completley missed the mark-- but it gave an opening for a third to try and grab Asura. He aimed for his shoulders and used his mouth to dive in to try and bite him in the neck.

Any damage could be fatal...

Except when the zombie grabbed him, all he caught was air-- and the faint image of Asura in its place.

Like a blur, Asura moved from one place to another almost instantly. Breath escaped him as he took in the dry, dusty air of the cave. He had to resort to an after image technique, which didn't cost a lot of energy but hurt to keep using in succession.  Easily recoverable with enough rest, but still, Asura couldn't afford a single hit.

"OKay... if its not a puppetry jutsu, and they are indeed dead... " Asura thought as he panted for breath. "They are reanimated. That has to be it. I'm rusty on the concept, but I seen it before..."

It was then Asura remembered his earliest time as a Shinobi. In the war held against the other shinobi , that reanimated enemies attacked Iwa. Asura held em off with Explosion clones, but it was Roku, his master, who defeated one that would of killed him. And it was that Jutsu that stucked to Asura, and made him realize how awesome his late master was.

"Okay... I can do this..." Asura said calmly as he turned around and faced the zombies. They soon reared their heads to him and charged once more.

With a hand sign for focus, Asura concentrated his chakra to his eyes. There was only one sure fire way to defeat them. To use a Jutsu only a shinobi with the Tengan could use. "Jiin art-- Tsuiho!" He opened his eyes wide and they glowed with a fierce light like sunlight.

The zombies in his gaze soon caught fire in brilliant sacred flare. The zombies groaned and their bodies would begin to fall to pieces, ate away by the flames that sent dead souls back where they belonged.

It was a jutsu Asura never thought he would use, but thanked whatever gods were out there that his clan created one-- that his eyes could use such a power.

Tsuiho is an eye technique used specifically on those that are brought back to life from the dead. Just from looking at them the user causes them to burst into Sacred Flames, completely destroying their body and sending their soul back to the afterlife.

Asura's breath catched as he saw the zombies catch fire-- and with the power of the blazing sacred flames-- dissolved two of them. The flames worked. As the zombies began to crumble under the glow of the flames. And this time, their ashes didn't gather back up. Whatever was animating-- keeping them alive-- vanished and disappeared. Perhaps they were souls bound to their corpses in some fashion, but they were weak in life force. Bound only by a small spark and whatever chakra reanimated them.

"Two down... Two to go..." Asura grumbled.

The two remaining zombies charged for him, once again trying to pincer him with two simultaneous attacks.

Asura wove hand signs quickly as the corspes rushed for him. He fell backwards to avoid the block and then finished his hand signs. In a backward flip, he landed iwth his hand to the ground. " Doton--Doryūheki!" The ground trembled for a brief moment-- and then a wall of earth jumped out, cutting off a portion of the cave where the zombie charged. Trapped behind the wall, it hit it instead of Asura.

With the barrier used to keep Asura from getting hit, he focused as the first zombie reared his head from around the obscruction. "Banishment!" he shouted, his eyes once again growing warm against his skull.

Flames spat to life around the zombie, causing it to groan and thrash as his body burned up bit by bit.

The second zombie soon reared around a crack in the wall between the barrier and the cave-- and lunged for Asura the moment it pulled itself free. Asura's merely shifted to its new target-- and the jutsu was cast.

Flame erupted from all orphases and mouth of the zombie, causing it to fall backwards from its intense heat.

Though painful, the flames would send whatever poor soul used to animate the body back to the pure land, where they belonged.
