The Sand Village was relatively calm and peaceful. It was midday, and school had just ended.
Tsukasa was walking through the village. His expression was stuck in a frown. He had yet to properly adjust to the extreme temperatures. It annoyed him, it had been a decent amount of time. What would he have to do to just… not feel hot.
He growled.

Then, a random person practically rammed into Tsukasa. Making him hit the sand face first. Which definitely made him PRETTY angry. He got up, and saw the person still running. He was definitely an adult male, and he was holding a large box. Perhaps it was a simple mistake, and he was actually on the clock.

This thought made Tsukasa calm down a bit.
However, another man ran past the child and yelled. “HEY! GET BACK HERE, THIEF!”

Tsukasa got out his tanto, and unsheathed it. And then started to run after the duo.

Tsukasa turned yet another corner. The thief had been much faster than he had expected. Was he a Shinobi then? Suddenly, Tsukasa felt something in his gut. Maybe he was overstepping his boundaries.

The child then caught up to the assumed victim. Who was leaning against a wall, out of breath. Tsukasa came to a stop right in front of him. “Explanations, now.” The man just looked at him confused for a moment. “Are you from the Academy?”

“Yes, tell me what happened. Quickly.”

“I run a shop not too far from here. Just received a new shipment, and outta nowhere this guy just comes and snaps up one of the boxes. And well, you can figure out what happened from there.”

“Where is the thief now?”

“Last I saw, he had jumped up to the roofs. You should go and get the poli-” Tsukasa had already left.

That was all that Tsukasa needed to hear before he bolted. The child ran towards the first building he could find. Using the momentum from the run, he would jump up and grabbed it’s ledge. He then pulled himself up, and looked around for a few moments. Going off of the course the thief had taken earlier…

Tsukasa chose to go east for now.

As he ran, he couldn’t help but let his mind wander. Who was this mysterious Ninja? And what was in the box? Perhaps the old man was lying and it was actually some sort of illegal contraband.
Well, he’d find out soon enou-

A kunai then whizzed past the young Mibu’s face. Which caused him to stop. “Okay… That had to be a warning shot.” He looked to the direction the weapon had came from. And thought about this for a few moments.
“Well, I’m already here. Might as well.” And so he went in that direction!

Tsukasa continued to dash across the rooftops. Eyes peeled for the thief. He gripped his blade tightly, ready to strike at a moment’s notice. For a moment, he considered activating his Akagan. But he decided against that. It’d be reckless to activate it before he even met his opponent. Not to mention the drawbacks. The child felt a chill run down his spine at the thought. He’d keep that as a last resort. For now, he’d rely on his skills and his blade.

Suddenly, another kunai would fly at Tsukasa! He responded by slashing at it with his tanto, deflecting it. The student looked in the direction from where the weapon came from and saw the culprit. He was just standing there, holding the stolen goods under his arm. He then turned and ran away. There was no doubt in Tsukasa’s mind that the man was trying to bait him into following. He decided to oblige and ran forward.

The young Mibu stopped running for a moment, and turned to look around the area. The enemy had disappeared once more. Tsukasa decided to take a kunai from the pouch on his waist. The man had to be around here somewhere. Then, the young ninja heard the sound of something and threw his kunai in it’s direction. After that, there was nothing. Tsukasa grit his teeth and pulled out another kunai.

It was at times like these that the ninja wished that he had spent more time on his chakra. There probably was some technique that could help him right about now. But here he was, completely blind. Maybe he should have stayed behind with the old man… Tsukasa shook his head, now wasn’t the time for doubts. He had to stay focused, or else he would never catch the thief.
