The young Mibu stopped running for a moment, and turned to look around the area. The enemy had disappeared once more. Tsukasa decided to take a kunai from the pouch on his waist. The man had to be around here somewhere. Then, the young ninja heard the sound of something and threw his kunai in it’s direction. After that, there was nothing. Tsukasa grit his teeth and pulled out another kunai.

It was at times like these that the ninja wished that he had spent more time on his chakra. There probably was some technique that could help him right about now. But here he was, completely blind. Maybe he should have stayed behind with the old man… Tsukasa shook his head, now wasn’t the time for doubts. He had to stay focused, or else he would never catch the thief.

Tsukasa continued to look around. He gripped both of his weapons tightly, ready to attack whenever the enemy would show himself. Then he got a kick to the back, which almost knocked him off the building. Luckily, he managed to stab his tanto into the roof right before he fell. Thank you, whatever made the thing glow. Tsukasa then pulled himself up. He then glared at his assailant, who was quite surprised to see that the child managed to not fall.
“Give up and return what you stole.”

The man scowled “I didn’t want to do this. But you left me no choice.” He then took a fighting stance. Tsukasa was less than impressed. “Tch, if that’s how you want to play it.” Tsukasa then took a stance himself.

The thief brought his hands together, and did a few symbols. “Bunshin No Jutsu!” Suddenly, smoke appeared next to the man. And when it cleared, an exact copy of the thief stood there. Tsukasa lifted his sword in front of him, somewhat surprised by this. Now things were going to get dicey for sure…

The thief and his clone then dashed forward, both going for rather telegraphed kick attacks. Tsukasa countered that by running forward, and dived under the attacks. The child quickly stood up and turned. He went to attack the clone with a stab from his tanto, expecting to seriously wound the construct. But, to his surprise it just burst into smoke once again.

Then the thief kicked Tsukasa in the face.

Tsukasa was sent tumbling by the kick, eventually he stopped at the middle of the roof. The kick had literally knocked the air out of him. He was also pretty sure that his nose was broken and bleeding. So he was stuck on the floor, trying to recover from the attack. The thief relaxed as he watched the child suffer. Now seemed to be the best time to book it but… One last thing.

He walked over to Tsukasa, and bent down. “Sorry kid, but orders are orders. Don’t hold this against me.” Tsukasa just glared in response. “I mean, hey, maybe you’ll learn something from all this.”
The thief then went for one last punch…

Only to get his hand skewered by the student’s tanto. “W-What?!”

“That’s what you get… for underestimating a Mibu…”

The thief pulled his hand off the blade, and took a few steps away from the child. “Ow… Stupid kid.” He had been too careless and let his guard down.

Tsukasa chuckled, and immediately regretted cause it hurt his chest a lot. He then looked at his tanto, now covered in the man’s blood. He could always count on the blade in times like these. Tsukasa would then start to push himself up, very slowly. He needed to think, how was he going to get out of this?
The thief’s hand was injured, so that was a thing.

Perhaps if he got one of his legs…

Tsukasa continued to stare at the man. Who had calmed down a bit. His right hand would be unusable for now, unfortunately. He glared at Tsukasa, and got out a kunai. “Alright. My mistake. I’ll make sure not to mess it up this time!” He then threw it at the child, who moved to try and get out of the way…

But suddenly, another kunai came in and intercepted. The thief took a step back in shock “Oh crap…” He then turned to try and run. But then, several ninja jumped in front of him.
The local law enforcement had finally showed!

Thanks to the Ninja Police, the situation was resolved quickly. The thief was taken away for questioning.

As for Tsukasa…

“Okay, so go over the whole story for me again.” Tsukasa was sitting next to another ninja, his face was now bandaged. Next to the two was the box of stolen goods. “The thief knocked me down, so I ended up going after him.” The older man just nodded “I see… Well, at least you’re okay. Don’t do anything like that again though, you’re still a student. Wait til you’re a bit older before you try anymore heroics.”

The Mibu just nodded his head.

“Well, I’d say that’s enough lecturing. You wanna join me for a stroll?” The man picked up the box, and started to walk. Tsukasa followed after him, however he would focus on his own thoughts. That incident showed him that the world was a lot harsher than he thought. He would have to double his training efforts. And learn some proper techniques, expand his arsenal from just swords and kunai.

Perhaps he’d ask around, try to find any texts that could explain the basics for him. Maybe he could ask Reo whenever he’d see him next, he was rather experienced in the art of Ninjas.

“Hey kid?” Tsukasa looked up to the man.
