Powerful Alliance

Shan’s clones arrived in the Country of Mists before Shan and Heto. Shan sent them running a few minutes ahead of himself as a scouting team. So far, they hadn’t run into anything. Shan supposed he was being overly cautious since they weren’t really wanted. As far as anyone knew, they hadn’t done anything wrong. Well, Shan hadnt. He couldn’t talk for Heto but she didn’t mention doing anything to put a bounty on her head. Then again, she had been attacked and not much was said about her past.

Regardless, they were Missing-Nin and he wasn’t about to get himself caught.

Shan hopped over a log as he ran through the woods leading into the country. He felt the chill in the air long before he saw the first flake of snow falling through the sky. Shan pulled to a stop as he released the clones, signaling for Heto to stop with his right hand. He surveyed the area for a moment before sitting down in the cold snow. The snow melted from his body heat and the liquid soaked into his clothes as he sat there. Heto pulled up and stood next to him.

“What is it?” Heto asked nervously.

Shan shook his head. “Nothing. I’m just wondering if you know where we are or how long until the chuunin exams?”

“Where we are? Well I can figure that out if you give me a minute. Based off how long it took us to get here I’d say we have about five days… you mentioned an item and wanting to come here for that didn’t you?” Heto spoke trepidatiously, almost as if she were afraid to ask after plans.

That made sense. It was the way the two of them were.

“Yes...The Helmet of Ramuh. It’s a legendary item of my clan but was lost during a Shinobi war generations ago… it was lost in this country.” Shan spoke cautiously as the existence of the helmet was supposed to be a clan secret. It made him hesitate without even meaning to. He was no longer a clan member, though and needed to remember that.

“ where was it lost?” Heto asked carefully as she pulled out her world map. She pointed at a general location before pulling out a writing utensil and drawing a circle. “We should be somewhere around here telling from our direction, path, etc.”


She pointed a little further inward. “ this is the location of the village hidden in the mists. Not so hidden once they start printing this stuff on maps but...anyway. We could make it there in a few hours if need be for the chuunin exam. Where do we need to go for this item?”

Shan only grimaced.

“I’m not sure to be honest..there are stories. You know what?” Shan places his hands together as he made symbols “Kage Bunshin No Jutsu!”

Two clones popped out of nowhere and then - as if on a delay - one hundred and twenty three more popped up. “Alright, listen up. We need to figure out where the Helmet of Ramuh is. Let’s put our heads together and figure this out!”

The resulting conversation was chaos. All of his minds were working in overseiving and attempting to talk over each other. The biggest issue is that they all let coming up with the same idea. It was probably lost at one of the battlefield sites.

“ This isn’t helping!” Shan complained as he released the jutsu. There had to be something he could do to figure this out. The problem was there were quite a few battlegrounds in the country and they only had a few days to find it, unless it waited until after the Chuunin Exams.

“How about we search the nearest battleground. The Battle of Aoi was nearby. Maybe an hours walk south of us, on the beach. If we go there, then maybe we will find some clues. It’s difficult without knowing more about the object, though…”

Shan sighed. He did owe her an explanation if she was going to help him look for it.

“It’s a powerful artifact from my clan, as I said. The Helmet of Ramuh..it’s said to be a powerful helmet capable of increasing the abilities of my clan’s doujutsu - The Raidengan. Stories of the original wearer say that he had three eyes - not two. The third was on his forehead and was known as the Spiritual Eye, the Inner Eye, or even the Mind’s eye. Nevertheless, it was said that it,too, was a Raidengan and that Ramuh possessed the ability to fight with his Doujutsu unlike anyone ever to exist. He was a storm unto himself and couldn’t be defeated...until he was.” Shan said after the explanation. What more could he say?
