“I’m not worried about your safety, boy” The man said as he took a step forward. His feet sunk slightly in the mud, but it was covered by the increasingly large amount of water covering the ground. There was at least three inches of water in the circle already. Shans hair stuck to his head as he stepped forward.

“Then why do you want me to leave so badly?” Shan asked as he stepped towards the man. “Are you here to stop me from getting the Helmet of Ramuh?”

“What in the seven hells is the Helmet of Ramuh? Boy, get the hell out of here!”

The man yelled the last bit. He didn’t give Shan time to respond as he dashed forward. Shan saw the movement with his Raidengan but it was like the world was moving in slow motion. He tried to react in time but he couldn’t move his body quick enough.

The man caught Shan by the neck and picked the young boy up. “Boy, there’s secrets here that you aren’t privy to. I gave you the chance to get out of here on your own. Now, I’ll do it for you!”
He began to to toss Shan forward but stopped as they faced the edge. A giant wave was coming.

“Well, fuck. Boy, you’re about to be either killed or taught some impressive things because it seems I’m too late.” The man said dropping Shan on his butt.

Shan,meanwhile, sat there staring at the wave. How was this man so fast? He made Shan feel like he was moving in slow motion.

“SHAN!” The feminine voice rang out, bringing Shan to his senses. What was going on again? Shan glances back at the wave. The strange man stared ahead, grim faced.

“You better home ln tight, boy. I’m not about to make sure this wave doesn’t kill you.” The man said in his same determined voice.

The wave hit Shan face first and it hit hard. Shan didn’t have anything to hold on to - but he tried to grab ahold of the ground to keep from being washed away. It didn’t help. The mud slipped from his fingers as the water ripped Shan off the ground. It flung him viciously into the rock wall near Heto, where he could hear her calling out to him. Then, the water seemed to form a whirlpool. Being inside of it, Shan couldn’t be sure but the water began to run alongside the rock wall. Shan struggles for breath as he floated along in the water. It would dunk him underneath at the most inopportune times.

Shan’s clones had somehow escaped the whirlpool that now plagued the original version. He could only guess how, but he could see them throwing wooden kunai into the center of the whirlpool...where the black haired man stood. The water seemed to rush around him, but avoided actually touching him as it did so. One of Shan’s clones attempted to jump closer to attack.

It failed miserably. They didn’t try to help Shan escape. Part of it was probably the futility of the effort but the other parts would probably involve anger at the man somehow standing in the middle of this typhoon and not knowing if the Shan in the water were real or a clone. Why would they save another clone, after-all?

Before Shan’s eyes, the ground beneath the man’s feet began to crumble. Shan couldn’t be sure if it was the massive influx of water or if it was related to some Jutsu the man used. Nonetheless, it crumbled and took the strangely powerful man with it.

The water suddenly shifted as it all began to pour towards the hole in the center. The rushing of water could be heard so loudly that it even blocked out the storm.

And Shan was being pulled towards the hole and immense water pressure as it exited through the man sized hole.

This was bad.

Shan was pulled towards the center and felt himself be pulled underneath the water with a tremendous force.

He fell through the hole. Unable to open his eyes due to the tremendous water pressure surrounding him, Shan saw nothing until he felt his body smack into the concrete below. Concrete or...rock?

The boy slowly opened his eyes as his body ached. The water above stopped falling and some red seemed to flow from his body.

Was he bleeding? Where? The injured Shan glanced upwards - hoping for an escape route - only to see the hole in the mud close.

He was trapped.

Shan groaned out as he placed his hand upon the stone beneath him. He could hear talking… but… Shan pushes himself to his feet.

His breath came in ragged gasps, but he couldn’t identify where the blood was coming from - which told Shan that the injury wasn’t as bad as the blood had made him think. Still, the young boy hurt everywhere.

He limped towards the voices he was in an underground cave. The entire floor of the cave was rock and there was a cistern that drained the water away from this part of the cave to somewhere else that Shan couldn’t see. Telling by the lack of any water where he was, the cistern did its job well.

The voices were coming from a small tunnel at the far end of the cave. As he walked closer, Shan thought he could make out some of what was being said.

“He isn’t worthy, Master Kame!” The male voice from before bellowed. It was the easiest voice to hear. The second voice was softer and much more controlled.

“You must calm yourself, Radi. He has followed all of our guidelines. We must offer him the opportunity to choose. To do otherwise would be to break our own bylaws.” The second, softer, voice said. Shan wasn’t sure what they were talking about but something told him it involved him.
