Kori threw another wooden dagger and noticed that she could maintain suiton without focusing too hard on the element. So, she decided that maybe she was good enough to form ice after-all. Maybe the last failure was an accident.
 
Maybe.
 
Kori put her right hand out and began to focus on channeling futon. The chakra of the wind. It felt like a cool breeze in her hand. In her left hand, there was water. It was the ever moving fluid nature of the world. Somehow, combining these two elements was supposed to create the solid and freezing ice.
 
It didn’t make much sense to Kori, but she might as well try. She placed her hands together.
 
The air around her instantly grew cold. Yet, at the same time, she was thrown backwards into the fence she had been throwing wooden Kunai at. Many of the kunai fell to the ground beside her. Still, Kori looked up with a smile. She had felt that. That coolness. She had the ability to make ice. She just had to wrap her head around it.

Kori dusted herself off and closed her eyes. She could do this. She could create Ice. She began to focus on each of her hands. Water. Wind. How did two fluid things become solid? There had to be something about it.
 
Kori placed the two chakra together and coolness washed over her momentarily. Then, it popped. She flew backwards and, frustrated, threw another wooden Kunai.

Kori walked back down a path, having exited the Academy for the day. It was time to train. The path she was on led to a small archery dummy. Kori wasn’t one who practiced archery, but it would be the perfect place to begin training her shuriken throwing.

She grabbed her wooden shuriken – as real shuriken were simply too expensive to risk dulling – and began to throw.

Kori ran around, jumping off trees and throwing wooden shuriken after wooden shuriken.. Eventually, she was out of them and she had to stop to pick all ten of them up. She was breathless, but her muscles ached in a good way from the exercise. She didn’t know what she needed to work on or when the next exam to become a Genin was, but she was getting ready. It was only a matter of time, now.

Kori began to count off the days until the Academy Exam as she threw her wooden kunai. One week? Two? It was something like that.

Thunk.

Another wooden kunai slammed into the target. It was a bullseye. She was becoming remarkably good at throwing Kunai, but she knew that there were other skills she needed to practice.
