Shan was…devastated. He had come so close to getting an eye before that monster showed up. Actually, Shan had noticed something off about that one’s eyes as well. He was sure that the creature had a Dojutsu of his own, though Shan couldn’t say what it was.

The near murderer walked forward to draw a number from the box.

Reuinited, Shao, Kyle and Mari entered the arena and went towards where the remaining genin was. Shao caught through the corner of his eye-- the strange blonde who initiated the attack. The sight of him, no matter how calm or normal he looked, sent a chill up his spine.

It was their turn to pick the numbers. One after another, team three picked their number. Shao was last as he picked his and looked at it reflectively, despite the sling his arm was in. He already was feeling better in it-- if anything it was best to look as wounded as possible. Surprise his enemies.

It was then that Mari spoke up. "Hey, look!" The young Kunoichi raised a hand and waved. "Reo! Over here!" she said.

"Ugh... why him?" SHao groaned as she got his attention, but he still shapened up and greeted him. "Hey Reo... How did you end up with your past free days?" he asked.

Of course seeing the bandages around Shao-- it would be a clear indication of what he endured. Anyone would scream "What the hell happened to you?!"

Fuu wondered what exactly happened to Shao but she wasn't actually paying that much attention, she was just wondering exactly happened to all the freaking exam kids. There surely couldn't be that many that were killed in the second round. She shook the thoughts out of her head as she took a number.

Reo heard an enchanting female voice calling for him. With a quick turn of his head, he caught sight of of Mari – the Konohagakure goddess who always stuck around Shao Hyuuga. She didn’t seem to be a Hyuuga herself, so it was probably just friendly teammates. Reo was that way with Fuu – though they never really had a third on their team. Supposedly the spot had been reserved for Tsukasa, but he had become a genin rather late and they were preparing for the Chuunin Exams by time he was promoted to Genin.

He walked over to them and was immediately greeted by Shao. “Uh…” Reo paused. He moped and trained. That was the extent of his uneventful few days. Shao, however, was beaten all to hell. “Nothing much, to be honest. I tried to get in the right mindset for today. What happened to you? Mari wasn’t hurt in whatever hurt you, was she?”

Reo turned his attention to the Kunoichi and blushed. “You didn’t make it to this Round, right?” He felt bad asking her that, but he really didn’t want to fight her. As Reo talked, he turned his number around to show them. It was a number one.

During the discovery of the dead bodies, Kokoro kept a safe but accessible distance from Kage Sayu. She did not interfere, nor put her input on what transpired. She heard the name ‘Zabuza’, which she knew only to be a former member of the Seven Swordsmen. She knew nothing of the Momochi Haku that the man spoke of.
As her Kage turned away, and prepared to walk away and vanish, Kokoro remained, decidingly to help the Jounin place the Genin in coffins. This played on her heart, as she imagined one of these children being her own. She sighed as they did their duty.

The following day, she found herself at Kage Sayu’s side, once again, keeping herself at a distance, but taking on her mantle as a Kiri Shinobi, as well as a member of the Seven’s Swordsmen. Though she had not be a part of the person guard appointed by the Mizukage, she had not be shy about volunteering and making herself available for her.

Hayabusa arrived promptly this time. Again, he arrived on the scene with his eyes glowing with Rinnegan. On his way to the seat set for the village leader of his own minor country, Hayabusa stopped before he would reach the Kazekage. He slightly bowed to him. The two of them had not crossed paths too many times, but he had hoped that the Kazekage had remembered their last conversation.
“Lord Kazekage… I just wanted to make you aware that I will be visiting you next week sometime. I have a proposition that I would like to run by you once again. Please, make expectations for me. I may need about an hour or two of your time…” he said. He bowed once again, before giving a nod to the Jounin whom protected him.
As he passed the Hokage, he bowed to him as well, but offered no words. He had a great respect for the Hokage. He had been the one to give Hayabusa and his family a home when they were all suffering from starvation and homelessness with no means of gaining funds. Because he had been an Uchiha, he had given rights to citizenship in Konoha, while his Suna family stayed on the outskirts of the village in an abandoned homestead. It was a kindness that Hayabusa would never forget. He had been as loyal to the Hokage as he would be to the Kazekage.
As he passed the Mizukage, he simply looked at the Mizukage, before looking back at Kokoro, as their matching cloaks had been highlighted at that moment. He winked before he finally passed.
Upon finding his seat below the banner of Beast Country, Gesshoku Village, Hayabusa leaned forward, eyeing the two extra familiar faces that were in the altercation he broke up the night before. One, he noted, had been a Hyuuga. The other, he was not sure of. He did not see enough of the battle to know his skill set, allegiance, or anything. This being the finals of the Chuunin Exams, Hayabsa was sure to pay close attention…
